So why not 720P60FPS in addition to 1080P30 for XbonePS4

So earlier today I read on another forum (Don't remember the link from that forum) that it's been confirmed that Fallout 4 will be 1080P 30 FPS. I'm ok with that option however I think there's also something else that could be done. That option is 720P/60FPS for Xbox One/PS4, now why should this be an option in addition to 1080P/30FPS.

1. Framerate over Graphics in an FPS- For a 1st Person Shooter, Frame rate is pretty important and while I do love graphics I would take 720P in order to have 60FPS. 60 is so smooth when I played Borderlands 2 and Dark Souls II on PS4. It felt like Sensitivity was high but it also wasn't. Having it be at 30 is not terrible but it won't be smooth and Combat could suffer at 30FPS.

2. Innovation- No Other company that I know of, does 1080P 30FPS/720P 60FPS on consoles, this could be a good time for Beth to be the 1st company to do that. Beth's doing Voiced Protagonist for the 1st time, Console Mods for the 1st time with Xbox One and hopefully PS4. They could Continue that Innovation and add this option in.

3. More Options Is Good- More Options is good, some people like Graphics, others like Framerate, having this option would lead to more choices and more customization of your gameplay. Like Graphics keep it at 1080P 30FPS and drool at the Commonwealth when you leave Vault 111 or if you like Framerate Drool as your spinning circles around Raiders blowing their heads off with Teddy Bears launched from Rocket Launchers.

I probably could list more but my mind is a blank at the moment. I would love for this to be an option because I like Framerate a lot but PC isn't an option for me. I will certainly enjoy 1080P on PS4, no doubt about it but I would love 60FPS and I would take a lower graphics setting like 720P as another option in the options menu to have 60FPS. PC's can be customized, I don't see why Xbox One/PS4 can't as well. :fallout:

I agree. I rather play a 720p game at 60fps than a 1080p game at 30fps.

Resolution doesn't really matter much to me on the consoles, as I sit a fair distance from the TV. Sure, the difference is there, but not large enough for me to consider it to be important. Unlike my PC monitor I sit very close to where I consider the difference between 720p and 1080p to be rather huge.

That said, I can't help but to wonder if the PS4/XB1 would be able to run the game at 60 fps even at 720p? Sandbox games have a lot of stuff going on, constantly loading and flushing data in the background as you move around in the game world. And the PS4/XB1 CPU aren't really that powerful. Have there ever been a sandbox game for the consoles that run at 60 fps?

People seem to be convinced that 1080p is the only thing that matters, 720p & 60fps is so much smoother gameplay wise but since FO4 isn't a first person shooter the 1080p 30fps will have to do. Also "action" games seem to prefer 30fps to free up other processing and memory space I think.

I can see the memory argument although 720P shouldn't be that taxing. I could be wrong though.
