Why I do not like the new reading system

Post » Fri Jul 29, 2011 12:40 pm

I mean that our characters read in 3d/real time.. ie we see the pages turn.

I think the previous system worked fine, why make it more complicated? seeing the page turn means a delay between pages. I do not like this.

discuss.

well thats realism for you. and thats what most people want. I on the other hand don't really care as long as I can read it I'm fine.and the wait between pages would be like what half a second I don't think thats such a big deal?.

Sounds great to me. In fact I always wanted a mod for oblivion that did this, but one was never made that I know of.

I think it's great. This time you can actually spend your game time by reading books.

Some people freak out when it isn't exactly like reality...but then some rather have effeciency. Not everyone can be happy it seems.

All it really means is that the world doesn't unrealistically stop while you pull up a menu or read a book ... I don't see the beef with that...

Most people dont read the books, just flip right through to the end to up their 'books read' count and in morrowind I don't think you got the bonus the book gave(if any) till you finished flipping the pages.

They could still have the oblivion system and have time pass.

the issue is the cumbersomeness of it. There is another game where you turn pages in the options menu but I cant remember what it is.. but it was annoying.

It's no big deal for me, unless it's slow. On the other hand it's not an exciting feature either.

I didn't know that this had been confirmed, but presuming that it has been, I like the idea.

I only wish that the map was handled the same way.

OT.... how do you know your post count?

And yeah the new reading system was one of the earliest things confirmed.
