Why is one of the moons so big?!

The Revenant Moon is the King of Worms divine form, as well... the version that ascended to Godhood after the Warp in the West.

Correct, but you cannot see that moon in any in-game sky.
Mannimarco orbits the plane(t) of Arkay, and when he eclipses Arkay from the point of view of Nirn, its the Shade of the Revenant.
But you cannot see any of the Aedric spheres in an in-game sky, let alone their moons.

The moons and planets aren't actually balls of matter floating in space, but the representations that are all a mortal mind can cope with of infinite gods in various states of death/separation from their aetherial natures. Only makes sense (in Mundus anyway) that what a mortal can sense of the dead Shor appears bigger from Skyrim.

It's funny that people take this as gospel. Sure, it is lore. But that doesn't make it true.

In TES, it does.
The moons are the body of Lorkhan.
They are also, at the same time spheres in the sky you can walk on.
Cyrus has been there, so have Imperial Mannanauts and Altmer Sunbirds.

The sun is a hole in the sky through which magicka flows into the Mundus.
It revolves around Nirn, it is a geocentric universe.

When Mannimarco achieved apotheosis, a new heavenly body appeared in the night sky.
Mannimarco now orbits Arkay like a moon.

On Earth, in primordial times, we had a similar mythical view of the universe.
We found out that while nice allegories, the stories were not literally true and now we have physics.

Tamriel is a fantasy world where the mythical view of the universe turned out to be correct and magic actually works.

The planets in the sky are the gods.

In Shivering Isles of course the player gets to go to Sherogorath's Planet/Realm. Given the Aedra are the cloest thing to Nirn it is their planets which are most visible; Lorkhan who gave his life in the creation of Nirn, it is the remains of his planet which make up the two "moons" seen around Nirn. The two Moons are slowly dissolving/breaking up, likely related to the fact that Lorkhan himself is dead.

I'm going with the "Lorkhan's balls" theory.

There is a lot of cheese in Nirn, they have to store it somewhere.

Hopefully I am like the 100th person to say "Because that moon that is so big, is closer to the planet than the other moon."

It's huge! Or very close to the planet.

You hit it on the mark... both of them. Remember, this is NOT Earth.

To the op:

You are not looking at the moon. You are standing on the moon. That thing you are looking is the actual planet... :lightbulb:

How soon till a modder adds a Majora's Mask moon face to it I wonder?

It's already been done...

There are two moons, one of them is Secunda, I know that much. They're much closer to Nirn than the moon on Earth, and are therefore much larger in appearance. There are planets in our solar system that probably have closer moons, although I'm not sure.

Some people say the planets aren't planets but look that way because of magic, others say they're actual bodies of space but they're close to Nirn, while others say that is a planet and you're on the moon. wtf?!

Yeah, I noticed that while I was standing on a mountain. I was thinking "I could probably shoot an arrow and hit that thing." It looks like it's inside the atmosphere or something.

I used to be a moon, until I took an arrow...erm you know the rest.

Maybe that's why Pluto's not a planet anymore? :D

All I can think of is the gravitational forces being exerted. And whether enlarging the moons will destroy Nirn as a result.
