Why do ONLY ghouls survive dismemberment :c ?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 6:26 am

be soo much more awesome if dismembered didnt = dead

would also be cool if ghouls would still move after losing a limb and would continue to try get you until they died or lost all limbs

like clawing at you if they lost both legs or still able to move with 2 arms and 1 leg

or slowly able to move with 1 arm and 1 leg

The robots act in this way, not just the Ghouls. You can shoot off individual limbs to slow them down. Shoot off both legs and they crawl, shoot off both arms and they suicide charge you.

One player lost his head and survived

Well I have several times melee bouth arms of a Ghoul and it stil lived. running arround with no arms.... kind of funny. try sticking a bayonet to your gun and use it on the limps on a ghoul... you can for sure cut of at least both arms and it still lives ;)

In my first hostile encounter with a robot I managed to shot of the "the eyes" of Mr Handy and managed to escape. They are freaking crazy and deals mad damage to low level characters.

I think that was some kind of random encounter. :)

My first robot encounter was with a Mr Gutsy that only had one tentacle thingie. It started shooting at me so I shot it's gun/tentacle off. I learned then that that was a bad idea lol. Mother effer started glowing red hot and double time charged me and he had too much health left so I couldn't kill him before he got to me and once I realized he was suicide bombing me and I wasn't gonna be able to kill him before he got to me I tried to run but he was so fast he caught up to me and the explosion was like a fat man mini nuke and insta killed me, even in my power armor lol.

Due to their FEV mutations I can see super mutants surviving dismemberment at least for a bit and being able to attack. Non mutated humans not so much. Blood loss of that level and shock would outright kill most humans with survivors not likely to be in combat shape.

Because the amount of trauma a human feels upon amputation, especially when its not immediately treated and in the middle of a war zone, basically means death.

Do you think someone who just got their arm or leg blown off is thinking about fighting back to avenge their lost limb or is more appropriately squirming on the ground in their own blood dying.

Well, humans have this thing call pain receptors in their nerves, so when you lose an arm, or some such the pain is usually pretty incredible, oftentimes sending the loser of said limb into shock...

Ghouls and Synth, however, appear to be lacking in these. Ghouls probably fried out their pain receptors living around radiation.

You can still handicap enemies by targeting their limbs until the small health bar is depleted. If you do enough damage to the enemy they will just die, but I don't think you can dismember a human raider without killing them, you can only maim them so they have to move slow or can't aim/shoot at you.

Because if you lost your arm in actual combat I think you'd be done for the day.

I think it's said somewhere that ghouls have a accelerated healing ability which is the reason they don't drop dead despite the fact their rotted.
