I almost always play Argonians, although I've also made a couple of Khajiits.

I find the Argonian disease resistance and inherent water breathing to be an ideal base upon which to build a solid character, as it means I'm already covered against a goodly percentage of dungeon traps/conditions without having invested any perks or enchantments. I do still need the occasional Cure Disease potion, though. Khajiits I like for the night vision, as well as the fact they make a good base for sneaky characters.

argonians cause this:
Their seemingly expressionless faces belie a calm intelligence, and many Argonians are well-versed in the magical arts. Others rely on stealth or steel to survive, and their natural agility makes them adept at either. They are, in general, a reserved people, slow to trust and hard to know, yet they are fiercely loyal, and will fight to the death for those they have named as friends.

I am currently trying to turn my skin grey and get red eyes.

..halp

Get red cosmetic contact lenses.

And buy gray foundation.

Then watch your social life go down the drain.

I always play as a woman, even though I'm a guy. So yeah, just play whatever you want to play as and don't worry about real life. xD

THat orc dual wielding on the loading screen made made me re-roll. They are just so damn cool

That happened to me too.

Usually, I always play Nord. My longest 2 characters are both Nords. Followed by epic fur kilt-wearing, dual axe-wielding orc.

To me it feels wrong to be anything other than a Nord in Skyrim. I've tried to be other Races but I feel like a trespasser or immigrant.

I did that on Mass Effect for two reasons

1. When I play in 3rd person, I have to wonder whether I want to spend many many hours with a man-bum pointed at my face.

2. When I heard about extra terrestrial lovin, the choice was only made easier.

God that sounds sad.

I applaud you for playing an Orc. Well I've found old Orcish men sometimes on roads that ask for an honorable death because they don't want to die from old age. They'd rather die in a battle. They are the MOST respectable race in TES. Then Breton, I'd say.

I usually end up as either a Redguard or a Breton.

I always start my game as a Redguard however eventually I'll switch over to a Breton and never look back. I think it has to do with my trust in Redguards and their ability to not only adapt but get through difficult situations. Once I've gotten my share of bumps and bruises with a Redguard I tend switch over to the squishy Bretons and end up becoming a Nightblade.

There's that and I have a thing for Redguard and Breton women* :)

*I don't actually play as women though. It makes me sad there is only one Redguard and Breton female to marry. Even worse is the Redguard has a hood :(

What he said.

Yeah I almost always play as a Dunmer, maybe cuz I started in Morrowind (though my first MW character was a Redguard). I have really enjoyed playing most races except Bretons. Not sure why.

Go with it. Let Freud and Joseph Campbell argue about it. ;-)

I am a big metal-head with a taste for things over the top. Maybe I play as an Orc because they are the most intense looking Race. They are also easy to role play because, when you run into a weird conflict (Oblivion example is "my paladin wants to do Dark Brotherhood Quest), you can just say (censored) it I am an Orc. LOL.

Besides what's more metal and offbeat than a Corrupt Elf?

Listen to Turisas and you will love Nords as well. :hubbahubba:

Played a Orc in Oblivion, and now in Skyrim. I just like the race, so I play as one.

I like Orcs, but for some reason I can only play a Dunmer now and I ask my self the same question you're asking.

If there was an Arena DLC, then I would play an Orc again.

I'm 6'3" tall and have weight trained most of my advlt life. I'm built like an NFL linebacker yet I like to play stealthy and nimble Archer/Scouts. You'd think I'd go the Nord Warrior route.
