Ok, so in real life. This is what I look like:

Nothing about me is Orcish.

Yet when I play Oblivion or Skyrim, I suffer from major restartitis. I try to make characters that are like myself, usually imperial bard types. That or I try to create a character I will come to really care for like a pretty high elf.


But for some reason my longest lasting characters are Orcs. I do not understand it. I have a connection to Orcs, but I don't know why.

Does anybody else find themselves playing as a particular race and not quite certain why it's that race they always wind up going with?

Because orcs are [censored] amazing.

Generally Nords, actually I cured my Restartitis in Morrowind by having a Dark elf With Nord Stats and height, made him Unique and rather interesting as far as Becoming Nerevarine goes, then playing Bloodmoon.

I didn't know why, but I usually found myself as a Breton. I wasn't even a mage. I tried Nord in Skyrim at first but then I became a Breton. Again. Then I went Khajiit.

Strangely, it's Argonians for me... maybe it's because I've always had and interest in Dinosaurs.

I am a big metal-head with a taste for things over the top. Maybe I play as an Orc because they are the most intense looking Race. They are also easy to role play because, when you run into a weird conflict (Oblivion example is "my paladin wants to do Dark Brotherhood Quest), you can just say (censored) it I am an Orc. LOL.

Besides what's more metal and offbeat than a Corrupt Elf?

I am currently trying to turn my skin grey and get red eyes.

I have yet to cure my restartiks. I have played Oblivion for nearly a hundred hours and have yet to finish the main plot(actually the farthest main quest I reach is the one that asks me to go to kvatch).
I've seen Uriel septim dead more than fifty times but I've never seen Martin for once.

This time in skyrim I have to force myself to finish the main quest with a kajhit. But I've never tried to model the game character like myself.

It's that kick-ass loading screen the orcs have, I seriously don't want to [censored] with that dude

well i try to look most like myself, since skinny white guy isnt an option, i go for muscular white guy, which means nord or breton mostly.

I love khajits and argonians.

Does that mean I'm secretly a catlizard?

Maybe it's cause it's so alien to you and you want to disconnect yourself into escapism?

Some examples from me then.

Dragon Age Origins: Mage Elf, magic is as far from reality as one can come in a class-based fantasy game and to top it off with pointy ears is just fantastic.

Dekaron: Segnale, I don't like Bagi cause his style is so warrior like, but Segnale, not only is she a healer but also deals with dark attacks, curses and stuff.

Fallout: Energy Weapons, simply cause I can play any FPS and use Guns and Explosives and any fantasy game and use close combat. But to slice a man in half with a laser weapon? That's just unique.

As for Elder Scrolls: Bosmer, cause of cannibalism!

Maybe you find kinship with the patron deadric lord of the orcs Malacath, who represents the disenfranchised and powerful races of TES. such as orcs and ogres, trolls.

Im playing khajit,imperial,wood elf and dark elf.

But i find orcs really good looking race in Skyrim. And racials is amazing too

Lol yeah I just used Berzerker Rage to kill a bear in hand to hand combat.

THat orc dual wielding on the loading screen made made me re-roll. They are just so damn cool

I usually play Altmer. But that's because I'm a metreosixual (possibly gay) ass-hole like them

I love to play as a Nord woman since I am a scandinavian woman myself and it lets me viking out and put on warpaint and really connect with my character. But like you, my husband is always an orc, orcs like shinies, orcs bash, orcs so smurt..

I always try to make a character most like me, but I'm built like a Nord with the height of a female Breton lol.. so until they give me a height slider I'll just be making Imperials.
