Why do people call modules "perks"?

No, I think it's come COD nonsense - I always make a point of calling them 'modules' or 'mods'. :D

I think they refer it to Call of Duty series, where players have 3 perks, that work like modules in Crysis 2.

Oh... damn, I thought Crysis 2 was unique for having modules

edit: oh wait I forgot Bad Company 2 has "specializations" and BF2142 sort of has them as well... whoops
