Why do people have in there signature "Proud to be a din

True, but does one REALLY need to have the faction/fan club they support in their signature? Not at all, despite whatever fancy wallpaper we plaster on our reasoning for doing it, it all boils down to ego, that want to say 'I'm a believer/member of (Subject in question) and I want people to see that I do/am'

Er, you have "The House always wins" in your signature, im just sayin.

I guess the teachings of Jesus could apply here? Serve your God in silence. He will listen and reward you. Serve your God and let the world know and you will be alone. By playing Fallout and not announcing it to the world, I will be rewarded in death by Ron Perlman and Brian Fargo. I will say I play Fallout, but I need not announce it to the world.

But when it really comes down to it, perhaps it is not ego Martyr. Perhaps it is a call to others, desperate to group up and make their voices heard in the darkness. We live in the age of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and the number of people who play the older games are very low. I guess it's a way of identifiying themselves without being blatantly trying to satisfy ego, as only fellow dinosaurs can hear the call of the Dino.

I've never denied that I do it. I'm just not as vocal. (Well, not unless someone argues against House. Then my Oblivion guard senses tingle and http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w28/goth-lover777/goofy.jpg happens)

I know what you mean, nobody has the Brotherhood of Steel's motto in their signature.

I don't exactly have the motto
but....
I do like mine better :P
