Why Do People Like Argonians? : V

I've always wondered why people enjoy playing as Argonians. Until I saw the race poll, I would've guessed they had at best a cult following of lizard pet owners, but it seems as they are the most popular race (at least on the forum).

Personally, I have trouble playing any anthropomorphized animal species, not that I dislike them, I just can't play as them. Either I play as a human or something close (an elf, for instance).

I've wondered why Argonians are liked, so vote on the poll, and post down below. Fulfill my curiosity!

Also have no idea what this Lusty argonian maid business is about.. I'm sure its some internet meme and ill get a lot of people quoting me saying stuff like "OMGZ ITS LUSTY ARGONIANS MAID!!!!! DUH"

I actually like them for all those reasons, plus the abilities. So adjust the poll. And the argonians have been my playstyle since TES Arena.

I also hate Dunmer.

I stick to human(ish) characters most of the time too. On the rare occasion I think something will look cool enough to play as, the beast races in MW and OB though were not that. I did love the Werewolf though, the different running modes (granted, one was actually combat, but shush).

Well I can understand dragons, since they're huge, winged, and breathe fire, but argonians are just big iguanas with a bulgarian accent

They are very distinct as a race, interesting aesthetics, nice abilities, funny names, what's there not to love? And besides there is Argonia which makes them even more interesting.

It started with Oblivion (as that was the TES I played first) all the humans looked revolting as a result of the character generation system and I couldn't stand to look at my character as I couldn't take him seriously. So I decided to play as an Argonian as I didn't know what an ideal Argonian would look like. Whereas I know how strange an Imperial looks alongside a real human. Also i found that Argonians look pretty impressive in plate armour.

LMAO why bulgarian, why not russian or hungarian?

I think Argonian is the coolest race of all and definitely one of the unique selling hooks for TES as a world. There are enough other games with Romans, Vikings, Africans and everything but walking talking lizards is not something you see everyday.

Well I'm russian personally and the accent sounds off - its harder, more crude, befitting of bulgarian, although hungarian is not too far off.

Beast Races are clearly inferior, and should be caged, along with Lizard Lovers.
