Why no PS3 demo ?? that is not fair !!

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 7:37 am

If you own a PS3 stop being negative about not getting a DEMO or BETA reason being Crysis2 on PS3 is still being tested At Sony studios ,it will be given to us once all has been checked and given the go ahead :). So for now just wait :).

Finally someone sensible on this topic!! I agree with Agumnivek Sony will not allow a sub-standard release of this game, this is the one game this year that is going to test the full capability of the PS3. As people have already posted Microsoft were not fully confident that the 360 could cope with the graphical prowess of this game.

I am a PS3 & 360 owner, played the Multiplayer demo on the 360 and will be purchasing Crysis 2 on the PS3!! I have had my pre-order in since Christmas i cannot wait for March 25!!

Stop being negative? These days with poor releases, e.g. games in need of a serious patch to enable gameplay, it is hard to be positive. The point is: Some people here say 'Have faith', but with very little footage, or a lack of a demo while the other two platfroms get one, the only conclusion to come to is - something is not right.

Pre-ordering a game is a commitment. I have pre-ordered Homefront and that means Crysis 2 is not a pre-order for me. However, if Homefront proves to be unstable e.g. IGN's current preview says the game is buggy, I will cancel that pre-order and pre-order Crysis 2 instead. Right now I'm waiting on Steam to cancel my pre-order.

Point being, why commit to pre-ordering Crysis 2 for PS3 without a demonstration of it?

Its ok that to test beta or demo, but to not give any screenshot ,video or some news it means like we arent getting game on PS3 just on XBOX360 and PC!!

some one doesnt know about that
uncharted 3
killzone 3
infamous 2 you know that world game that lets you fling giant tornadoes around the city as you glide across power lines
the last guardian you know made by the people who made the best looking game on ps2
motorstorm apocalypse is going crazy with the amount of destruction altering environments and physics particles going off at once
you could throw resistance 3 in there as well

like if you think crysis 2 is going to be the only game maxing the ps3 then you have lost all creidbility crytek has completely went back on their word of supposedly pushing each console to its max you cant say we are going to push both consoles to their max and then turn around when the game is about to release and say they are identical doesnt work that way

I have just heard the follwoing regarding the PS3 demo

"PlayStation gamers "can probably hope for one," executive producer Nathan Camarillo told PSU. We want as many people to play Crysis 2 as possible," he said. "I can't say anything too specific. We haven't announced [the demo] yet."

Things are looking hopeful??

Thanks for picking me up on that, there was a typo in there. What i meant was Crysis 2 "is one game this year that is going to test the full capability of the PS3"

I agree with your games list of others that are going to push boundaries.

The main reason I want a demo for PS3 is to see what I'm getting before I pay for it. I don't care for levelling up etc in a demo, I just want to know that the gameplay is solid.

..and if it's not, well trying it early gives me time to act upon it.

I for one have no doubt that Crysis 2 will run great on PS3!

Here is some info to take in to consideration as to why the info on the PS3 might have been so limited...
(This is what I think any way...)

First some facts:
1 I've heard that Crytek has officially stated that the PS3 version will be better looking then the Xbox 360.
2 It's a fact that there are more Xbox 360 owners than PS3 owners.
3 M$ - enough said...

I think the PS3 version is just as far along as the Xbox 360 and the PC versions, but has been toned down because; To show PS3 footage similar to the Xbox 360 footage wouldn't do anything new to me as a PS3 pwner - I've seen the gameplay in the Xbox 360 footage...

To flip the image...

If I were a Xbox 360 owner and had seen a lot of footage and the saw some PS3 footage looking significantly better, I'd be the one complaining!!!

So to summarize:
The fact that we haven't seen any PS3 footage is probably not do to a lacking or incomplete game (It is Crytek we are talking about here!)
It is likely because the footage could potentially cause Xbox 360 owners to cry out and complain...

Again this is just my thoughts - and I can't force any of you to think as I do...
I intend only to put things in a different perspective...

This Is What it says=)

Crysis 2, producer Nathan Camarillo spoke of the PSU portal on the game the German CryTek Studio prepares ranks among the most anticipated of the year.

The reason for his talk? Mainly from the public for PlayStation 3 that expects a demo or PC and Xbox 360 fans will enjoy as they have enjoyed.

"We want to play Crysis 2 as many people as possible," he assured Camarillo. "I cannot say anything too specific because we have not announced the demo".

On possible differences between the versions of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the Executive stressed the message that has been sent from the beginning of development. "People will try to find disparities, but they will not offer any." Both are great, the two play great regardless of if we use the individual mode or multiplayer. They are identical offers. "Quality is enormous in both, and there is really no difference."

ok heres my conclusion why ps3 hasnt gotten a demo yet.
1) m$ probably paid ea, crytek, etc. to get the demo first to appeal to xboxers because they dont have an exclusive coming out for a while.
2) crytek wanted to make sure that the xbox could handle the gameplay and released what they did to make sure the bugs will get worked out.
3) ea and crytek said that the gameplay and graphics are identical because they didnt want m$ to get butthurt if they said ps3 was better.
4) sony has kz3 coming out soon and sony didnt want c2 to detour ps3 owners from kz3 (exclusive priority).
but i think within the next week or 2, ps3 will get an announcement for a demo by reading some of the "hush hush" comments. sony just wants to get kz3 lifted off and then let others start getting recognition. sony knows c2 is a huge threat to kz3, therefore they dont want any interference.

The 360 one didnt even work for a week straight for me. Its not like that was a huge advantage. It just showed me how overrated these guys really are.

Yet the 360 had a demo first.

Essentially, sony doesn't pay it's way around enough to get nice things. It'd be the same for the PC community, but they are far more noticeable when people piss them off.
