Why do Redguard children have white skin?

Post » Fri Mar 15, 2013 3:44 am

I was thinking about making a Redguard and having him adopt Redguard children and I noticed that all Redguard children have white skin or at least tan-ish skin.

Was it too hard to change their skin tones or something?

Alesan and Braith don't even look like Redguards.

Not just that but why do all children have the same face?

Was it really too much work to make at the every least a Boy face and Girl face?

Why did they make children with uni-gender faces? Laziness?

I'm glad they at least gave boys a different voice than girls... even though it's only one voice...

Uni-gender voice would've been creepy as heck.

lol.
I don't think they wanted to put children in to begin with (considering a quote from M'aiq the Liar in oblivion) but did due to popular demand, so perhaps they didn't feel like too much effort needed to be put in? Still, that is odd.... are there orc children by any chance??

other than Braith and the bits and pieces boy (who has a nord father) there aren't many redguard kids.

I blame it on the climate. The poor redguard kids don't get the fiery desert sun they need. :D

Every single thread I have seen on these forums involving Redgaurds and skin color has been locked. Just throwing that out there so you won't be upset when it happens.

I just wanna know why most Redguards you meet talk like they're from Ohio.
They don't even sound...and I do not mean to be racist...But they don't even sound black or moorish at all.

Most likely just Bethesda doing their best to avoid controversy.

Kids, marriage, followers. All of these feel pretty unfinished.

That could mean that they might expand on it?

I think the first two were as expanded as they're going to get with Hearthfire... which isn't saying much. There were some great-looking follower improvements in the Gamejam video from a while back, and a great deal of things from that video eventually made it into the game via DLC, so here's hoping those do too.

They are modder's resources and RP devices. Beth really can't develop these themes much further without pissing somebody off.

You meet Nazir, THAT'S what a Redguard should sound like. What's wrong with a black man SOUNDING black?

Well, look at the Assassin's creed series.

Everyone may speak english but at least they have accents.

No idea why most Redguards could've have some sort of exotic/arabian accent.
