Why is sheogorath not mad?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 9:11 pm

He just quite simply isn't . I could be a better madman than him and i am not mad.

And why is mehrunes dagon always the same? As the prince of change you'd think that he'd at least give himself an extra pair of arms or a new hairstyle every now and then?

Why is the "six" part of the daedra taken out of the game? Books can tell you stuff.. but i still wonder why daedra spiders/winged twilights/golden saints hide their boobs or have boobs and some of the greater daedra seem to be hush about what their spheres are.

Sheo does seem more... random than freakin insane. I like to attribute that to the CoC and the whole plot of Shivering Isles (though you were probably meaning Sheo from Shivering Isles). I just think he's a little more subdued in Skyrim, though that may just be because we weren't around him for very much.

As for Dagon, he seems more about OTHER people's change, not his own (and not something as a new hairstyle, but more bloody).

Sheogorath is mad. He just chooses to take on the more whimsical humorous side of madness.

Mehrunes Dagon is all about change through destruction and fire.

M rating or not, a large group of the people who play this game are people under the age of 18. Like it or not, western society is very uptight about nudity and six, and while it's okay to decapitate and torture people to death, it's not okay to see briasts, and that can make-or-break a purchase.

I on the other hand don't see the problem in this but its probably because we have different viewpoints on both subjects.

On topic: I thought he was pretty fricken insane for being around him for only like 15 minutes, what did you expect him to be like?

"A God's preferred appearance (which is how I'd characterize the archetypes most associated with each Daedra and Tribunal member - the Aedra do not have physical appearances associated with them), a God's personality (which is a strange word to use for an entity which is not a person, but it's hard to find a better term), and a God's sphere each should considered on its own.

Sometimes their appearance does convey their intent and sphere.

Example: Mehrunes Dagon. His sphere is destruction. His personality is simple straightforwardness. He does not attempt to obfuscate, but appears as one might expect - demonic and savage.

Sometimes their appearance does not.

Example: Sheogorath. His sphere is madness. His personality alternates between the jester and the homicidal maniac. He does not appear frightening, because he wants to seduce people down the Golden Road.

That is what is tricky about the Daedra, especially those whose sphere is obscured to mortals. You cannot look at the innocent looking Meridia or the fearsome looking Mephala, and surmise the nature of their power. They may be trying to mislead."

And this is stupid, This is the most stupid and hypocrytical view people have. Nudity is completely natural and without six those whiners wouldn't even exist so their complaints are ridiculous about it being bad. Nudity is the lesser of two evils when compared to murder and/or torture as shown in various movies or games and yet people seem very backwards. My opinion if course

deadra are the embodiement of change, change and stasis. Dagon likes destroying things, he doesn't change, he will always like destroying things...unless he...actually never mind the lore isn't that important to the conversation

Also real madness isn't that entertaining, if sheo was making a woman suit or eating people you probably wouldn't want to mantle him, he wanted you to so he appeared "crazy fun", who doesn't want to shout weird things and talk in a scottish accent, Also he does lapse into homicidal rage everyonce in a while, he probably would rip out your eyes if he didn't actively need you to help him

as far as no boobs in the game, i don't think they would add much, and they would probably just alienate some of the people who are buying this game, its kind of wierd to play skyrim with you family in the room if theres naked people running around :/

Yeah this game wasn't really mature for a M rated game.

I've noticed briasts don't tend to cause quite so much of an uproar (though of course they can). Now, if you get the idea of showing too much of a man, then people start getting out the torches and pitchforks. :shakehead: Doesn't go too far against your point, of course, and suggesting any combination of two of those getting too close to each other definitely gets people angry far too much more than it should (some combinations more than others). But seriously, when Daggerfall in 1996 can be far more open about those things than Skyrim fifteen years later...

As for Sheogorath, well, let's just say that just because a person has some kind of mental illness doesn't mean they're necessarily going to act like a blatant stereotype.
