» Mon Jun 13, 2011 5:09 am I have a dilemma in my brain right now. It seems that the Nanosuit Reboot is a similar Crysis 2 version of a CoD Prestige. In theory, it reboots your nanosuit to give you a fresh start. Wouldn't a fresh start be to start from rank 1 (or 5)?
I guess not. Because in my opinion, the reboot should just reset your rank to 1 or 5 (depending on if you got limited edition), and allow you to follow up on your previous assessments so you can try and achieve 100% in all of the Skill Assessments.
In Crytek's opinion, it should: Wipe your rank, k/d, game time, weapon info, skill assessments, module upgrades, and god knows what else. Only 2 things spared: Dog Tags and XP.
Neither of those matter too much to me. I mean, someone would reboot...to lose everything and gain 1 weapon skin? And a neat dog tag? This makes no sense to me. I'm not sure, Cry-Adam mentioned something about this fixed in 1.4, but I'm not sure if he meant modified to just reset your rank and nothing else. My guess is he meant that they fixed a bug with it, but kept the basis of what it does.
I know I don't want to reboot, and probably won't, because it means I will lose every single skill assessment I have worked so hard for.
I believe Crytek's idea behind this is to reset the Skill Assessments to allow players to redo those assessments to rank up faster to reboot again. I think it's not a very good idea, because if I reboot, I DON'T CARE! I will level up one way or another, with the help of skill assessments I have not yet completed! I don't want to keep doing assessments over that I had already done! And if I run out of assessments, then hey, I will just have to get XP the old fashioned way, by killing.
BOTTOM LINE:
I believe that a Nanosuit Reboot should reset your rank back to rank 1 or 5. NOTHING ELSE.
I do not believe it should wipe every statistic you had besides your XP. I want my hard earned skill assessments!
