Why Skyrim will be a better game that Battlefield 3

Post » Wed Dec 01, 2010 4:41 pm

In the early 2000s me and my friends were obsessed with Morrowind and Battlefield 1942. We played countless hours on both games. So battlfield and ES go hand in hand for me. I posted earlier that the Battlefield series is IMO going down hill, but it is still better than most shooter series so it will be worth the buy. I am a long time ES fan and BF fan so I cannot wait for both games to come out. I am considering saving up for a new comp just for the occasion.

Is Battlefield like COD where it holds your hand , and tells you what you have to do in order to go onto the next linear mission?

Not so much, the Battlefield games in the past have been focused on online massive-warfare maps. It's only recently since Bad Company that they've had a story based single player campaign, and they've been very free-roam.

I think all FPS campaigns are like that, personally, therefore I don't enjoy them very much.

Battlefield games really shine in multiplayer, with team-based (and class-based) cooperative play, large maps, vehicles, and destruction. Once I became accustomed to combat in destructible environments, everything else just seem ... less.

Somebody I don't know told someone else I've never seen before except for today that someone named Coby is better at basketball than someone named Jordan. So I thought I would post here so we can have a flame war about it.

it will probably be better than BF3 simply cause shooters are getting stupid easy these days. skyrim will NOT however be better than minecraft which is currently the king of games.

I know that Battlefield 3 and Skyrim are very different games, but my friend says that "Skyrim svcks compared to Battlefield 3". He never played any Elder Scolls game before. Please convince him that he is wrong.

I liked BF2 quite a lot actually. BF3.. it could be a monster game.

But I have no idea what will be a better game. I'll wait and see. and when I do see. it'll be IMO

How is this thread still going? Like I and most other have said, the games are uncomparable. It's like saying... which is better? Chocolate cake, or finding a 10$ bill in the street? Except that you can't buy Skyrim with Battlefield 3...

Well your friend is simply ignorant. And I don't mean that as an insult. He seems to blindly stare at Battlefield and discard every other game in his peripheral vision.

Yes Battlefield 3 looks like it's going to be an absolutely great game but you can't say Skyrim svcks without trying it out for yourself.

If he does try it out and doesn't like the experience, then he can say it svcked for him, but not for everyone. In the end it comes down to personal preference.

If your friend can't see that then he is truly ignorant by his own hand.

Isn′t everyone else tired of these pointless non-skyrim related spam topics?. I mean, my 8 year old cousin says that TES svcks, but that doesnt mean i′m gonna start a topic asking everyone else to debate over it. If you don′t have anything say about skyrim then please don′t clutter the forums even more.

God sakes....

You can't compare these games. Why?

Because they are two different genes

BF3:FPS

Skyrim:RPG

what kind of friends do you have?
god if one of my friends said that i'd probably find a way to make him cry.

edit: by the way even though skyrim and battlefield 3 are totally different, skyrim will still be better.
its like instead of comparing an apple to an apple coated with feces, your comparing an apple with an orange covered in feces.

still two different things, but there comes a point where you should just be comparing "coated with feces" to "not coated with feces".

One is a modern day military shooter with automatic machine guns and explosives where you hunt terrorists, the other is a medieval fantasy with swords and spells where you hunt dragons...

go compare :)

Ooookay. Game genre differences aside. I will probably get BF3, play it and complete it in what, 8-10 hours? the usual kind of modern FPS game length these days.
I will get Skyrim and probably take weeks or even months to complete it, like I did with Oblivion and Morrowind. TES games are played for YEARS by fans...tell your friend that.

Priceless.

My friends say many different things and quite often I don't pay too much attention so I don't even know why I should try to convince your friend about anything.

Bf3 will have great multiplayer. Other than that you are correct.
