Post » Fri Dec 13, 2013 3:35 am

omg herro.

I want to change mai resolution, i usually used the skyrim luncher for dat. HOWEVER, when i clicked on it, dat ol rascal STEAM is trying to download me an update,

which would be ok, if it would TELL ME WHAT ITS DOWNLOADING.

is it an update? is it the game? is there a way to tell? is there a way to change my resolution without going through the launcher?

how do i tell what skyrim version im using?

Why you don't let the steam update to finish the update progress ????

Actually steam would download your game only the first time you bought it. Beside that it could be an game update or steam update as well...

-----------------------------------as for the resolution:

In your [C:\Users\Your name\Documents\My Games\Skyrim] folder open the SkyrimPrefs.ini

-----------------------------and:

There will be an entry under [Display] (without quotes) "iSize W=XXXX" and "iSize H=YYYY"

Replace the XXXX with your desired screen width (i.e. 1920) and the YYYY with your desired screen height (i.e. 1080)

Also make sure "bFull Screen=1" is present. If it reads "bFull Screen=0" change it to "bFull Screen=1"

Then save the file.

Try not to launch via steam, as it could reset your resolution settings....

------------------------ steam version:

Start/load a game, press ESC to bring up the system menu, and it's there near the bottom left hand corner.

The current version is: Version 1.9.32.0.8

well i guess i'm going to let it update, even though i should be fully updated.

i can't get into the game b/c of CTD's from installing a bunch of mods off of the Workshop.

they really did a poor job of implementing workshop mods tbh.

btw, does anyone know if the Workshop mods get updated or installed using SKSE to load?

Also, does steam let you know if they auto update mods? or how to fix? That would be terrible imo. the last workshop mod i got i had to untick b/c it kept updating and messing my merged patches up.

I don't use the workshop, but you have to use the SKSE launcher for SKSE dependent mods to work properly (doesn't matter if installed by workshop or some other method). I believe workshop mods also auto-update after using the skyrim launcher, but this can also be bypassed by the SKSE launcher.
