why take away the consoles access to unlimited resources

Post » Fri Mar 18, 2016 12:39 am

I think you're basically creating your own definitions to fit your argument.

Whether it's the Dogmeat item duplication glitch or the Dogmeat item duplication bug, patches are intended to fix both bugs and glitches.

The previous patches have addressed many bugs and glitches that were drastically affecting the game for many people. Overall, the quality of the patches for FO4 has actually been quite good.

Let's look at it this way - Patches are designed to fix bugs and glitches.

Intended game play mechanics do not qualify as bugs or glitches.

Bethesda removed the Dogmeat item duplication bug/glitch and the shipment duplication bug/glitch with patches.

Therefore these are glitches/bugs, and definitely not gameplay mechanics. If they'd put them there intentionally, I don't think they'd have removed them with patches.

I'm not saying they use it to cheat at all, I'm saying when it comes to bug fixing they have a unfair advantage cause we can't as easily fix it.

As to your second question, get a Keyboard that plugs in, that was my idea, program the Xbox One and game to sense the Keyboard and basically act as a PC which is what a XBox One basically is. Just less advanced.

A lot of this reaction stems from a general belief that Bethesda have put all the game's real problem glitches in a cupboard labelled "stuff to maybe look at once we remove all the beneficial glitches and any others that spring up later.". If you check a lot of these kind of topics both here and everywhere else on the net the issue of priorities is being raised a lot.

Fixing something that actively stops lots of people finishing the game is infinitely more important than things that affect how a small portion are able to enjoy the playable chunk they have access to. And console manufacturers are not the driving force for this, as they merely allow patches at a cost to the developer, they don't mandate them. Many broken games get no after sales support and remain glitchy. Why would they not only mandate F4 patches, but actively decide Bethesda's priorities for them.

As a company it makes more sense to remove or fix the more embarrassing things - even stuff like the settlers tightening invisible nuts or hacking with feet embedded in the floor should be taken seriously as it's made Bethesda a laughing stock.

Exactly, they say they don't cheat, but there is so much evidence to disprove that. They want us to believe otherwise, well, from what I see, it isn't going to happen in the near future. It's as if they love to rub it in the Console Players face.

nvde mods? Yeah sure that's cheating

Glitch videos? Why would PC players need to make glitch videos if we all 100% cheat with console commands?

So videos pop up on YouTube of mega builds (they could easily be console players using dupe glitches, or they could of just grinded for the resources?) and somehow that is evidence that all PC players cheat?

It's threads like this from the me me me/instant gratification console players that makes me hope we get separate threads in the new forums.

Because they want to find something, anything, to complain about.

You can tell. There is a difference for Duplication, Grinding, and Consile Commands.

BUT THE BIGGEST THING OF ALL!!!! What in the bloody hell gives you the right to judge how other people want to play their games. If I want to use a Duplication Glitch to get unlimited stuff what gives. Plus, I want Console Commands on XBox, what the Big deal is that anyways

This thread isn't about telling people how to play their games, It's about Bethesda removing glitches. They even posted in this thread on why they remove glitches but for some reason people still don't get it.

Why would they follow your advice and do something they don't want to do when I provided a means for them to do exactly what they want to do? Why does it bother you if people remove the patch?

We're getting beyond explaining why things are being patched and moving into people sitting in judgement over people who still manage to find a way past all the fixes. What's your probkem? The exploits are being patched. That's what you wanted right? As long as the latest patches include code to prevent exploits, why should you care what people are doing in unpatched games?

Seriously, don't even bother. There's nothing the console manufacturers, Bethesda or even you can do to prevent people reinstalling their discs in offline mode. You can be vocally displeased - but that's all.

And when the other side starts grumbling in this sort of situation where we have a definite foothold on the ability to exploit - I'd call that the cherry on top.

I'm not angry they removed it, I just wish I had console commands. I can't afford a good gaming PC so I figured Console Gamers could get a little Leeway.

Likely because of what you can do with the console commands. Things like marking children as killable. I'd imagine that would turn into an epic storm of bad pr. Hell it'd pretty much write itself. Neither microsoft nor sony want to deal with that.

edit: On another note, I thought the glitch was mainly fixed as a byproduct of a larger bug they fixed. A moderator mentioned something to that effect

When the DLC arrives I doubt the saves will be backwards compatible.

There is no garentee they would do that! Plus, what people who forget how life works, Sony and Microsoft have no control over what people do with Console Commands.

They do have control over you, to the point of not even allowing you access to console commands.

If they have the option, they will do it. And microsoft and sony *do* have control. They say to cut out the console commands, and beth says, "yes sir, yes sir, three bags full". They really want access to their market.

edit: Consoles are walled gardens. And the gardeners get to decide what gets planted. Beth could try and make a fuss over it, but considering market share consoles represent.. there is no profit in it.

Ok, read mine again, where doese it say they they will. I never said Microsoft or Sony will, or if. I was talking about it as if it was standard. So you are just blowing smoke right now.

Again, not saying they have control over if it gets put in. I'm saying THEY HAVE NO CONTOL OVER WHAT CONSOLE COMMANDS PEOPLE USE

I know. That's the icing on the cake.

Incompatible saves + precious exploits in 1.0.9 = a whole lot of people either turning the mods down completely or at least until mods arrive to replace the exploits. Folks won't just wipe all their saves. As soon as incompatibilities occur it's time to retreat back to 1.0.9 and squat there for a while longer. Bethesda might lose some sales due to this, as nobody's going to buy DLC if they can't play it in 1.0.9 yet can't be without the exploits.

And that's why it will never be allowed in. Can you honestly see a public relations person using the 'we had no control' as an excuse? Especially when shown child killing videos from their console?

The obvious questions would be, why did you allow that code in? That would then be followed with demands to re-rate the game or ban it.

Edit: Real world example would be gta and the hot coffee mod. Where code was flat out disabled, then a person hacked the game and re-enabled it. Causing if memory serves both lawsuits and the game getting re-rated.

It's like asking if Sony allow copyrighted songs to be used in LittleBigPlanet, not to mentioned sculptures or worse, photos, of genitalia. They don't, yet because they don't absolutely control us those things can occasionally be found. And I imagine if sensitive people happened on those levels you'd get the same outrage and reaction. They're rare but they absolutely can happen - yet the series has something like five entries now and no known major incidents despite "dodgy" stuff being easy to accidentally stumble upon.

And LBP has a much much lower age rating than 18.

I'm not displeased at all. I just think, even as a console player myself, that the incessant harping about Beth removing an exploit or glitch is rather silly.

Stop trying to be politically correct. IN REALITY, it ain't the [censored] Companies fault, plus this is a game for people who are 17 and up, mature audiences. We can handle a little child killing.
