Right when I started the game for the first time I got all the necessary parts to repair him, by force and right when I get to primm I have the best non human companion...and with a perception of 1 he really helped

I would definitely agree that ED-E easily has -THE- most useful companion perk in the game.

Sure beats glowing loot or ~3 DT from whisky.

ED-E's combined with boones makes the ultimate sniping squad...I use it, I kill deathclaws from a mile away

Oh Ed is great ,you can start with only 1 per and with Ed along you can see for those red marks for miles he's a blessing, give you a musical warning when danger is close and with his upgrade he's a blue shooter hehe!!
