Hi guys,

Does anybody know why the Dark Elves aren't part of the Aldmeri Dominion and are part of the Ebonheart Pact instead? I get the whole link between the Ebonheart Pact in the Akaviri invasion, but isn't the whole purpose of the Aldmeri Dominion to restore Elven rule to Tamriel? Surely that would mean the Dark Elves would side with the other Elven races? Can anyone shed any light on this?

It's probably because all the territories with alliances are all next to each other. And I'm pretty sure the high elves hate the dark elves.

Every one knows the High Elves are better to rule all races, even their lesser Elf "Brothers" and humans just mess everything even worse. // From their POV

I'm quite pleased about it though. Oddly enough, the three races of the Ebonheart Pact happen to be exactly the three races I will want to play in ESO.

Main reason? Faction balance.....3 races each. Game design > Lore most of the time.

Very true everyone does hate them, especially the argonians which oddly enough is on same faction. Its all based on where the territory is pretty much is only thing taken into hand cause the war. I will be playing on all factions! There's a race I love on each one

Just seems a bit silly to single out one Elven race from the other two.

Before they were Dark Elves, the Chimer rejected Aldmeri ways and traveled to Morrowind (then Resdayn). There are actually very good lore reasons for them not to be in the Aldmeri Dominion.

1. Orc are mer as well

2. Dunmer have never been on friendly terms really with the Altmer

3. IF you actually know the Lore about TES, you would know, why.

Me Too! Khajiit (AD) Argonian (EB) Orc (DC) Lore wise: Argonians do like the Khajiit race either -- so it might be joining with the Dark Elves might be lesser of two evils and also that is one way to "free" their follow Argonians in Morrowind. From Argonian POV, If the Dark Elves be a meat shield, less of them to make slaves of the Argonian race and also a way to free their race from their hands.

Bosmer and Braton (Sorry for the spelling of the race name) are really half- Elves. Orcs, Dark Elf Hight Elf and the Falmer (Snow Elf) are full Elves --- There is no more Wild Elf and Deep Elves at this time of history.

Orcs only decended from Elves, I don't think they're still classed as full Elves, wasn't it something to do with Malacath turning them into actual Orcs? I think the two species are only classed as cousins.

Because we Dunmer do not like our Aldmeri cousins, and they do not like us.

Even in the 2nd Era, we do not like each other.

During the Merethic Era (when we were the Chimer), the Aldmer and we had a falling out. They did not like our worship of certain Daedra, and we refused to quit worshiping them. They demanded that we worship their Eight, we refused. So, the Prophet received a message for us from Boethia, and we followed the Prophet East. We found Resdayn (what the lesser races call Morrowind), and settled there and built our mighty nation.

But we would also refuse to join their Aldmeri Dominion, which was another reason for the falling out, but both races realized that a war or other bloodshed would lead to mutually assured destruction, therefore we had even more incentive to leave our intolerant cousins behind.

Boethia (may He reign eternally) tricked and ate Trinimac (one of the Altmer deities), then [censored] him out as Malacath. His form greatly changed, all those who were closest to him were also changed bringing about the Orcs (or "Changed Ones").

That is why even the lowly Bosmer look down on the Orcs. They are literally, Daedra poo.

When an Altmer speaks of "Elven rule", they really mean "Altmer rule" since they consider themselves the only "real" elves left. (Although they do seem to have a soft spot for the Bosmer in that "backwoods country-bumpkin cousin" kind of way.)

Dunmer (Dark Elves) are polar opposites of Altmer (High Elves) when it comes to culture, religion, and philosophy. The entire reason the Dunmer left the Aldmer (ancestors of both races) was that they disagreed with Aldmeri teachings.

Altmer believe in the worship of the Aedra and revile Daedra worship.

Dunmer believe in the worship of the Daedra and consider the Aedra week and foolish.

Its a cultural schism that can't be breached by an Alliance.

of course they are not pinnacle, what made u think that. they are not perfect at all but what they are is not stupid. they join the perfect race in fighting others and did not stand against them like other lesser races. btw i always think scoma is for those dirty swamp things. for our friends and servants only best moon sugar is adequate!
