Why the devs aren't participating to discussions?

Post » Mon Jan 31, 2011 7:14 am

Funny that a dev pops in on another topic while this one is hot too. lol Commenting on the Orcs.

What he/she say?

Not easy to participate thoroughly in the forums and work on Skyrim. There is alot to be done and we have to make sure everything is good for launch. That being said, quite a few of us do pop in and out and post every so often. We definitely read alot of your comments. Alot of times though we literally cannot comment on many things. Even correcting misconceptions is mainly up to Matt and some of the other people in charge of community managment. Besides I personally wouldnt want to slip up and say something I wasnt supposed to. We do enjoy reading, posting and interacting with you guys when we can though but lets not forget that 11-11-11 is right around the corner ;)

Truth is they are probably creeped out by the level of obsessiveness all of us here display

I think you'd be (pleasantly) surprised by the level of some of THEIR obsessiveness towards TES.

Anyways, I have seen some of them on the forums, just never answering questions regarding the details of Skyrim. Which makes sense, if they release any new info it will be through a controlled medium, certainly not in a forum. I would assume that most employees aren't allowed to discuss future games as a company policy.

Edit- Hey cool ^

"Wadsworth, am I right in thinking that there is nobody else in this house?"
"Um, no"
"Then there is somebody else in the house?"
"No, sorry. I said no meaning yes."
"'No meaning yes'!? Look, I want a straight answer, is there someone else or isn't there, yes or no?"
"Um...no."
"No, there is? Or no, there isn't?"
"Yes."

Nice. We have two mods looking this thread over. :ermm:

They want to control the release of information to keep hype up for the game, but at the same time keep hype to a realistic level. This is why they (and most) companies do this where info is a slow trickle until near release

First, do you want them here, talking to us? Or there, making the game even greater?

Second, they have to be careful what they say, so they probably choose not to talk at all lest they say too much.

However, I see one is viewing this thread now.
