why the disc?

Post » Thu Nov 21, 2013 12:56 pm

My installation DVD for "The Elder Scrolls V: SKYRIM" finally arrived in the mail. The installer on it promptly fired up steam, which as far as I can tell installed from the net.

Is there anything on the disc that is fun or useful? If so, any pointers on what that would be and how to get at it would be appreciated.

Apologies if I've posted this in an inappropriate area.

Thanks!

You can use the disk to install the game so you don't have to download 7 or 8 Gigabytes of game data. See this for how to make Steam use the disk rather than the download

You will still have to download the final exe file, that's about 17MB.
