Why do the dogs look [censored]?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 3:52 pm

OK so I was looking for a dog that I could buy. Well I found one an his name is Vigilance. He is a good fighter and all but he is FUGLY. I was looking for a dog that looked like a wolf or german shepard but all TAME dogs are the same dog with a different name. It pisses me off that Bethesda didn't add different breeds of dogs. I stillapreciate the majesty and awesomeness of the game but if I could name one problem of the game the only thing that comes to mind is that. Does anyone agree with me? Does anyone want this in the DLC?

EDIT: Wow I forgot that it sensors stuff

Looks like an Irish Wolfhound, which is a damn fine dog.

You mean the dog, singular... there's only one dog mesh in the game.

But there just not that good in combat, more of a distraction and they love blocking doorways so you cannot get through.

Ugh, this. So much. Not only that but the damn things never stop barking.

LOL! Exactly! Your sneaking around in a dungeon and the dog barks and barks, its like "Shut up!"

The other problem I have with dogs in this game is if you leave the dog at your home and come back after a long time away, the dog goes back to the guy in Markarth. Then if you want the dog back, you have to go back and pay the 500 gold again. :rolleyes:

There's an wasy explaination for that:

Tamrielic dogs have always [censored] on every [censored] they [censored] to come across, causing their [censored] to be naturally reflected on their mane, which may lead to [censored] and other missconceptions, like [censored] on a [censored] with a [censored] before the [censored] [censored] [censored]. Hope I made It clear.

Boys, boys, boys. You're not thinking far enough.

When my Forsworn armor-wearing Redguard who's gone completely native shows up (to break bread with you, or kill you, depending on your character and her mood), her pet sabre cat will be busy contemplating how your dogs would taste.

Now THAT'S what I want.

Sorry for not posting. I forgot I made the topic. I like to have realistic RPs so I have a pet because I like having pets and I usually marry because that's what I plan to do when I get older.

At least you can look at him, I sent him out for ammo and never saw the [censored] again.

He found an unexplored vault full of dogfood eh.

And it is also no pet shop. I can't buy a cow -.- :sadvaultboy:

Interesting fact: A loading screen says the cow is the most common domesticated animal in Skyrim, yet there are only like 2 or 3 in the entire game. Chickens are far more common than cows in Skyrim. :P

This is a serious concern that must be remedied immediately, for seriousness, seriously. I'm serious.

To be honest, I have precisely zero interest in buying pets in the game. If I wanted to mess about with fluff like that, I'd go and play some crap like The Sims. ;)

Same goes for marriage too!

You could kill kids in the sims... and make woopie, and have kids... Here, you just get an online snap-vegas-wedding.

I want a chinese fighting fish, and a bald tea-cup-dog... ankle-biter! Named "Fluffy".

"Fluffy, go et Lydia, I need help!" {Woof}
{Runs home..}

{Woof, woof}
"What Fluffy? JD has fallen down a well, lost his rope-ladder, is being attacked by skeletons, and needs help!"
{Woof}
"Oh, sorry, Skeever, not skeletons... Let's go!"

The Mabari Warhounds in Dragon Age were baller.

But this isn't really a big deal in TES.

I'm pretty reluctant to get a dog if it's just going to bark at me forever...and I'd still feel bad if it died. But a pet sabre cat, maybe...

There is only one breed of dog in skyrim. And they ALL look the same.

Just like the dogs in the Resident Evil movies... a coincidence or something more? You Decide!

Interesting fact: A loading screen says the cow is the most common domesticated animal in Skyrim, yet there are only like 2 or 3 in the entire game. Chickens are far more common than cows in Skyrim. :P

Wait, chickens are animals? All this time I just thought they were particularly noisy wheels of cheese.

I need to get out more.

Agreed!

I still have fond memories of the wizard familiars you could get in Baldur's Gate II. It was fun having a fairy dragon or imp living in your inventory (and they were useful as well).
