Hi everyone this is the first time I post question here.

I bought Skyrim last month and it was fun playing it. However the 1-8 hot keys of favorites just didn't work. I did follow the game instruction to set those hot keys.

I made a sceencap about it but this forum doesn't allow me to post picture.

Basically, when I press Q, the left side of my screen will show a list like this

8.Clairvoyance

1.Fast Healing

2.Flames

6.Lesser Ward

3.Sparks

...etc

Press Q again to close the list. Then I press 8 or other number keys, nothing happens. Did I miss something important?

have you tried hotkeying a weapon or an article of clothing and seeing if the hotkey works then?
