Why do the ordinators say "Were watching you scum" ?

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 9:14 am

 "We're watching you... SCUM!" in a helium voice would make just about anyone fall over laughing, I think
[/quote]
Your right i would fall out of my chair if a female woodelf as an ordinator said that to my character.

They temporarily stopped calling me it because my disposition went up. Now it is worse then ever and if it gets any lower they are going to attack me on sight.

If only you were able to join the Ordinators as a faction and ware their armor without them trying to kill you for it.

Working on it ;)

If you all hate us so much for being nice, how about we all clobber you with maces when you first arrive?

Scum.

You could always remove the armor scripts in the CS, and make pretend you're an Ordinator. It's lame, but hey, it's better than nothing.

I'm personally a big fan of the Ordinators and High Ordinators. For starters, their armour is completely awesome, amongst my favourite in Morrowind GOTY, and their quotes are memorable. "Citizen!"

It's a shame that they made the best looking armor (mods excluded) cursed. The ordies will attack your ass on sight if you wear it.
Which I always hated. Do they still do that if you join the temple? I've never done the temple.

They do, because the Ordinators are the temple guards but they are their own faction, they aren't really part of the temple. Notice how they really are only in cities with the "gods" in them, unless they are like on a mission like in ghostgate. The temple is made for priests, but these guys are hardcoe, aggressive almsivi bad-ass cultists.

A misconception. They will only attack you if you talk to them wearing either their helm or cuirass. Even then it is only the group of ordinators you talk to that will attack. So, talk to an "ordinator_stationary" and the other types (those with proper names, ordinator_wander, those ordinators in Mournhold, etc.) will not attack you.

I shouldn't have to micromanage my armor pieces to conform to their fanaticism.
Still. Easily solved. I never take up medium armor :/

Does anybody else think the Ordinators could be perceived as a 1984 reference? (Constantly watching you, not to mention the Ministry of Truth)

Is it because my character is not a temple member ?

Actually, I get "We're watching you, scum." a lot from Telvanni guards.

"Company policy doesn't allow me to give you a refund on that item, only store credit....scum."

Could you imagine that at McDonalds?

"You want fries with that...scum?" :D

My last character was both Temple and Redoran, and I actually found myself missing the aggressive Ordinators. Instead of being hostile and suspicious, they were all fawning, simpering sycophants. ("May you find me worthy of your attention.") Sort of creepy, really.......

You know, I kind of agree, when they like you, they sometimes seem too nice, I mean, any character in the game will say good things to you if they like you, but I guess "We're watching you, scum." just sounds more fitting for Ordinators. It just kind of comes off as being... wrong somehow, it's like a character who was always memorable for being a jerk suddenly starts acting all nice and polite for no reason. You'd think it would make that character more likable, but since it's such a dramatic change, it just feels strange.

As others have already said, basically yes. But on another note I have come to loathe hearing Ordinators say "We're watching you...scum." more than I loathe hearing the sound of several cliffracer's attacking me all at once. Guess that just goes to show how many times I've heard them say that one line over the years. :stare:

I'd rather have the ordinators call me scum then to hear the scream of a cliffracer. I have nifgtmares because of those cliffracers.

Well the Ords in Vivec used to attack my character on sight because I had not known previously about that armor thing. I used the soultrap glitch on a Golden Saint summon spell and would summon 6 or 7 every time I went into that city for protection because I didn't have any invisibility items at the time. I then took as many armor sets as I could carry and camped at the mudcrab until they were gone. Oh, and once summoned ten GS's and killed Vivec but didn't save because I didn't want my character to be technically evil.

Just wear some of their armour, and I promise they'll stop saying that. You'll wish that they would say it, but they won't have much to say but DIE!!!!

And I agree, cliffracers are evil.

Ordinators are usually susceptible to "Admire" (more than other guards) Even so, I've never had problema. They are straightforward and pretty mean with a mace if you feel like fighting them.
Telvanni guards, who call me "scum" a lot don't like me much unless I bring up the Gateway Haunting.

The only way they have a chance of beat me is that spell that either drains or damages my agility. Luckily i am on the PC version. You know what i mean.
