I'ld much rather have Sawyer, Avelone, and Todd Howard team pp to make the perfect Fallout 4 with each of their skill; Gameplay (Sawyer), Writing and Lore (Avelone), World (Todd). I think Bethesda should just, honestly, Buy Obsidian.

Sorry guys, this is it. I'm the last one on the project, and I'll be turning out the lights after this week.

It's been a good run, but everyone is moving on to new projects.

I was referring to the fact that a couple of XB360 reviewers had some catastrophic bug issues that were probably due to a combination of things that just ended up adding up. They assumed all 360 users would be simillarly affected, which was not the case since there are so many variables in the game. A month or so after release another message board I visit did a poll about how buggy the game was: over 100 PC users responded and about 95% of them said they'd had no significant issues. The XB360/PS3 users had higher complaint rates, but still about 85% said they hadn't had any significant issues. 15% with serious bugs is a problem, but thats still the vast majority of users who are not affected. That doesn't help anyone with the bad luck to be on the wrong side of those odds, of course.

But I know a lot of people on other boards who continued to think the game was a buggy POS even when that has not been the case for most users. So that's why I think the problems were exagerrated. Either way, the patches have reduced the number of people actually affected in a serious way even further.

Sorry messed up in the previous post. Meant to say there is a LOT more people then 15% affected by the bugs in the game just look at the issues forum and the patches only help a little maybe not at all.

It's been a good run, but everyone is moving on to new projects.

So no more patches either? If not then can you guys at least tells us how to work around some of the bugs?

1. Like last night after I left Gomorrah they didnt give Pushy and the Van Graff's EW weapons back to Veronica and ED-E.

2. Veronica's quest, "I could make you care" isnt triggering at any of the locations except for the Silver Rush. Is there another way to trigger her dialogue?

3. For some reason the Legion is non hostile with me even though Im villified by them. Even the Assassins are non hostile untill I attack them. Furthermore, the leader of the Assassins is by himself at first and the rest of them are half a mile away from him.

NV is my #1 game man (obviously, since I keep at it despite having to start a new character over 50 times), but these things ruin each playthrough 6/10 times on average.

Edit: Actually, I only have these problems with my EW/BoS characters.

New Vegas has been a sweet and fun ride but it is over.

Having the choice (which is totally hypothetical and non existant) considering finite resources would you rather have more DLC if it meant the next Fallout installment would be delayed 12 months or 16 months since they would be busy with DLC.

Time to start the process of creating a new game. The law of diminishing returns and opportunity costs dictate it.

Well like I've said there is plenty of lore already established in game for another storied DLC.

What has me thinking is the use of words at the end of lonesome roads "the last road he would walk before the second battle for Hoover Dam." That wording makes me wonder if there will be a New Vegas 2.

I'd ask which ending is canon at this point, but it seems clear to me (correct me if I'm wrong) that at least Obsidian (or at least Avellone) intended for the canon ending to be Independent Vegas, but by the end of the day, Bethesda will have the say.

Thanks for the ride though. :foodndrink: Fallout New Vegas has been absolutely awesome. I hope the whole team of designers, writers, producers etc. will get to make another Fallout game at some point.

My own experience from the game on 360 which I got from pre order was I had one save that would never load out of playing it well over 300 hours at the least. I got the odd scorp stuck in the ground. As for all the other bugs I never experienced them. Yes I'm aware of the quest ones as stated earlier. It seems more people have bug issues because people are more likely to be vocal if they're having bugs rather than being vocal when happy with something. I guess there is no really way to compare the amount of people who had bad issues against the ones who never.

On topic however I'd happily accept a new DLC if they ever decided to release one. As for what I'd like in the DLC I'd need to sit have a proper think. Doubt they will though even if the opening post has sound logic.

Skyrim will be a much better game,

That remains to be seen. Check back a few months after Skyrim's release and the new game buzz has worn off.

and all attention needs to be on Skyrim,

Hence why DLCs would be outsourced to Obs. :)

Eh, that's a false scenario - Bethesda and Obsidian are different companies with different dev teams. More DLC for NV wouldn't detract from the development of Fallout 4, unless Beth does the awesome thing and brings in Obsidian to handle the writing, worldbuilding, and quest design while they handle content generation. Which would be awesome, but I'm not holding my breath. I suspect Fo4 will ignore most of the lessons of NV for a variety of reasons.

Ack! Don't give them any ideas. :yuck:

Not sure what I would want in another DLC, although it would be nice if doing something like clearing out Cottonwood Cove actually made a difference rather than just being something to do for a pro-NCR character. IOW, if you wiped out a given outpost or base, then there would be appropriate actions and reactions from both sides.

Note that I said "significant issues." We clearly have different opinions about what that means. To me a significant bug is one that affects everyone and make the game difficult or impossible to play. So the XB360 reviewers who complained about saves not loading halfway through the game had significant issues. If an optional sidequest isn't working quite right (for some people, not all) then its a bug but not "significant" IMHO.

Most gamers are willing to live with the lesser bugs, they are not willing to live with ones that make the game unplayable. That's why I said the problems were exagerrated, because the majority of players never had an unplayable experience but some of the reviewers made it sound like that was the case. Some people did have significant issues, and I've acknowledged that, but they are not the majority.

Sorry to hear that things are officially done from Jason. I understand the reasoning, though.

And that's where I wouldn't hold my breathe.

Honestly, I don't mind if Bethesda does Fallout 4 in Pennsylvania or New York or somewhere around DC, but for the love of god, please give another Fallout New Vegas to Obsidian for the "Fallout 5." Let them take care of the West Coast, let them continue from where the Courier left off.

I hope they don't do New York. It's been used way to much by movies and video games. It's time to let go of New York, and use something else. Or, they can just say to Obsidian, "here you go, here's the title of Fallout", and then Obsidian can make them from now on and Bethesda can just publish it and pump out more of their own games.

Sir Jason Bergman, thank you. It's been hell of a ride, and it has been an exciting one... keep doing what you do, and until Fallout 4 comes out, I'll keep myself entertained with Skyrim. Lonesome Road was such a great way to wrap up New Vegas... these last DLC's will be fun, but they won't be so full... thanks for the experience.

Can't wait until Fallout 4! NYC... I hope.

PS: I may or may not be on my 8th playthrough....
