Why is there an NDA still?

Curious...why is there still an NDA in place? We are a little over two months to launch and theres still an NDA in place. Theres hardly any information, any REAL information, on crafting or endgame systems. People cannot go into depth about the game to get other people pysched about it without breaking the NDA. So Im curious...why does bethesda still hold the NDA? Are they afraid of negative commentary or something since many fansites are polarized about the game?

I think it would do the game some good if people were able to talk about their experiences and get other people who may be on the fence excited about TESO.

Thoughts?

Because the closed beta isn't done until open beta begins. The NDA may even still remain in effect for closed beta experiences (Wouldn't be the first time)

Allowing people to share details of closed beta experiences with talk of features that may have changed or been removed, bugs that have since been fixed or anything similar would impact the game negatively in an unfair way. (Couldn't think of a better word there)

Negativity is fine, but when it's over something that isn't in the game anymore or has been long fixed, then it clouds the issue. I once saw people freaking over reports of a bug that had been fixed over a year before, but because somebody broke the NDA and shared their one and only experience from prior to the bug fix, people believed it was still present, it wasn't.

I have just seen a very mixed reaction to this game so far and the pessimist in me says that the NDA is still here to keep naysayers at bay(whether their naysayying is accurate or not). There have been many releases in recent years and to my knowledge none have been met with such a mixed reaction that TESO has PRE release. Most games are filled with hype and people are stoked until they finally play and see the pitfalls.
