Why there unfortunately won't be werewolves or other werecre

What Demarcus said again! They may need new animations though but cut out the blacksmith animation and bam: werewolves.

Vampires require a unique face and sun damage.

Werewolves require animations, claws, and skin.

Overall id say Werewolves are a little more difficult than Vampires, but I wouldn't say they're light-years away.

@JDH, im not a fan of Zombie mode for World at War and Black Ops, but they are slowely becoming more popular than Treyarch's COD games themselves...Be careful what you wish for, but most of the time you'll actually be satisfied with being given what your asked for.

I guess my point is that sometimes it's good not to get everything you ask for. It's like when they added zombie modes to all the new COD games after World of War. If it adds to the lore and the depth of the game then fine no worries, but if the addition of werewolves and vampires are added "just because" then don't do it.

Like I said to each his own. I don't want to see fairies either.

The lore already states that there are werewolves and werebears in Skyrim, so you therefore agree they would add to the lore of the game as it would keep the series consistent.

I don't want to get hopes up or anything, but am I the ONLY ONE who thought that the answer in the fan interview was a giant "there are going to be werewolves but we don't want to talk about it so it's a surprise!" I mean, they've had no problems saying no to spears, crossbows, and things like that. But they want to keep it an open question until the game comes out. So it's not like they're messing around with whether or not it can be implemented properly. They certainly aren't going to be attempting to fit werewolves in at the last minute.

I'd say don't worry about it for now and wait until the game comes out to make comments on the possible absence of werewolves. Some of you act like it's been openly denied when it hasn't.

Yeah, I think they want to keep it hush-hush, possibly for a future announcement. Someone reported Todd making a similar claim at E3.

I suppose that is one valid point, but I would like to think a deadric disease couldn't just die out (I hope)

Only thing I can see being difficult about lycanthopy is the kill animations. And balancing a super powerful lycanthope changing once a month or a less powerful beast form to change whenever the player sees fit. I'm hoping it's the former.

That would be a very cheap way to opt out of werewolves, and that would leave future games far less likely to be able to have them, which i don't think bethesda wants, even if they do decide to leave werewolves out of skyrim. and besides, werewolves and vampires didn't seem all that likely to die out, as they were doing a pretty good job of either keeping away from sight of most areas with large groups of people, or were able to blend into society so that nobody ever knew what they were. Also, if werewolves ever did die out, Hircine could just turn anyone he wanted into one and start it over again, since Hircine made the lycanthropy disease, and Hircine does enjoy his werebeasts.
