Why weapons in OWB arnt that good.

Post » Fri Jul 22, 2011 12:45 pm

K9000: The minigun is way better than it, the ammo is cheaper and easier to come buy and the gun its self is just better with an over Quadrouple the amount of rounds K9000 has and less damage but a heck of a lot faster fire rate. All in all the minigun is way better.

Saturnite super heated fist: Ballistic fist, end of story

Antenna thing: Super sledge beats it in by far damage but not attack speed, still the super sledge is better. Well Id rather have a super sledge than some weak antenna

Proton throwing axe: Yes its better than any other thrown weapon in new vegas

Elijah's Tesla cannon: Easily beaten by the Tesla beaton prototype only thing Elijah has on beaton is the 1 less EC pack per shot

All in all the weapons weren't to great, but the DLC was amazing.

You should look at the positive side of the weapons, weighs out all of your negative evidence heavily.

Your also forgetting many of the customizable features many of these weapons have. Even the ability to hit through power armour & more damage aginst robots is a very useful effect.

Yes but besides OWB how many robots are there in the Mojave that can kill you? none. (unless your level 4 and shot the securitrons at the gate or go to the tesla beaton prototype area) Also I like the weapons alot, the k9000 really helped me out since my perception is 1, and I only used the throwing axe once but it was funnnnnn!

I'm with lying hearts on this one.
Best weapons IMO for each DLC:
DM:Automatic rifle
HH:A Light shining in darkness
OWB:Rigged tesla cannon
LR:MG-42 (please!)

The LAER shoots way faster and has more ammo per clip. I'd say their pretty even there bud. And the OP's argument was that OWB weapons were weak, I provided an example of a weapon that was strong. I don't see where a comparison to another DLC weapon was necessary?

But with the Laser Splitter mod (forgot the exact name) the ELAER does 96 damage with my 95 Energy Weapons skills and it has a higher ROF then the Holorifle. So it can deal more damage in a shorter amount of time. But both are really good I suppose.

i would love to see the return or the Infiltrator/Perforator, http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Combat_shotgun_(Fallout), http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Assault_rifle_(Fallout). Maybe add make a unique Anti-Material rifle that is... you know... http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Bozar. Basically I just want some weapons that look and feel like fallout stuff like the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Hunting_rifle_(Fallout%3A_New_Vegas) btw a unique one would be awesome too.

I actually prefer Elijah's Advanced LAER over the Holorifle... expecially fully modded, as for the Saturnite Fist Superheated.... I love it's ASPD.

I really don't see what he is talking about. I love all of them, he's comparing the Proton Axe to the Super Sledge, but the Proton Axe is way different, and so is the Unique Version. He didn't even metion the LAER, which is my favorite gun, as well as the Sonic Emitter Pistol, and how you could change it up. The DLC is a huge area, and the story and comedy is great. With all of the new systems and features they added, I don't see how you can say that the weapons aren't that good. They did an amazing job on this DLC, and the weapons in it.

They all seem fairly weak until you go back to the regular wasteland. You can lay waste them in new and exciting ways!

Really? What level are you? Because I thought they were all really good. The creatures were just strong, that's why they seemed weak most likely.

I love the proton axe simply because it looks awesome. Would rather use that based on aesthetic appeal than the supersledge because it does a tad more dmg, simple as that.

One thing about the Super-heated Saturnite Fist is it is a lot faster then the Ballistic fist. And I agree with t003 that a unique hunting rifle would be sweet.

lol basically the 2 weapons that i thought were any good were the inversal axe thign and the dog gun but the axe is only good on robots and rlly there arent many once youve killed them all and the dog gun is good for close range but anti material still best long distance in the game and even more devestating at close range. all in all i was not very happy with the weapons from this dlc but it was an interesting dlc.

When it comes to the usefulness of the weapons added in OWB, I think they were great, only downside to them was trying to use them against enemies in the Big Empty. I even took a pulse gun with me to help starting out since I knew there would be robots....suffice it to say....it svcked, even though in the Mojave no robot I faced stood much chance against it, I guess the robots of the Big Empty are that amazing.
