Why? Why? Why?

Post » Wed Mar 19, 2014 3:16 pm

Hi

You are making a good game here and thats why its so sad u dont put that little extra in to make it great... You have the PvErs,PvPers,RPers wich most like the looks of the game and how u interact with the Enviroment..

So Why....

* dont the seconday weapon show.. Just like in every other game u put your weapons in your pocket?? Make ALL weapons show even secondary weapons at all times or a option to show/hide..

* cant u shoot/attack from horseback? and why does your weapons dissapear when u ride?

* cant u shoot birds or other kinds of animals just sitting on stones and bridges? (No i dont wanna run around and shoot birds just annoying that u cant) and u cant stand on fires etc etc feels like u running in a restricted world

* Is the running and the animation of combat so bad?

* do u have four classes? Why not make all classes unlockable so u dont have to reroll a alt and do it all over if u dont like your class choise.. (Yes i know its in all other MMOs ex the secret world but its just tiering to have alts and secret world model is awesome just unlock and go and u have one character only that u lvl, unlock, upgrade etc etc Rerolling just makes u wanna quit instead of doing all the unlocks, skyshards etc etc again...

Suggestions:

* Why not implent som parkour so u actually can climb a small wall or a tower which is not to high of course so ppl cant climb keeps and stuff...

* Why not implent ladders in seiges to buy as seigeweapons? Put a ladder to the wall were players at high risk can climb one and one over to cause damage from within.. and defenders can push the ladders of the walls or shoot players to the ground.. That whould make the seiges interesting :=)

That was the small ides that bothered me when i was playing and two suggestions to implent... Litsen to the gamers and put in more realistic stuff or make em options, that will make more ppl happy and u making a greater game.. Some ppl like me actually like the small details and that is whats making the game great.... Biggest misstake is not to litsen to what the gamers want...

Feel free to post more stuff in this thread that botherd u while u played and hopefully it will be changed...

Kind Regards...

Why do people feel the need to make these types of threads, WHY?

I read something somewhere of them maybe including ropes in the future that you can climb up in PvP I think it was. I can't for the life of me remember where that was, maybe it was a suggestion that they thought would be interesting to implement.

Would like the ability to fight from horseback, as in Skyrim.

In order:

-Because while it makes sense realistically, there are some combinations of weapons which would be difficult to render in a way that didn't look ridiculous.

-Because they don't want mounted combat in the game. Most MMOs don't have it, and even the Elder Scrolls series didn't have it until a very late Skyrim patch.

-There are very few animals you can't kill, and it makes sense that most of them are birds. It's difficult to render a hit box for something that needs to fly.

-Looks fine to me. Combat felt much better this beta, and I've never had any issues with the general character animations.

-Classes are just a starting template. Nothing wrong with creating an alt if you don't like your class, but your playstyle isn't defined by the class you pick.

-Wall-climbing has been out since Daggerfall, and while parkour is the trendy thing for all the Assassin's Creed clones out there, it doesn't make much sense in an MMO.

-Sieges are already pretty interesting, but this isn't a terrible idea. I think you would find that it's a very inefficient way to lay siege to a keep, but nothing wrong with the option.

Edit: Also, you're going to get a survey in your e-mail. That's where you want to put these.

These are not features in ESO because they are bad ideas.

By bad, I mean that they are all either unnecessary or go against the design choices that were made by the developers.

I'm sure you mean well, but it's hard to take any of these suggestions seriously.

Where to start. I guess with your first point about secondary weapons, such as your bow being shown on your back while you're dual wielding, right? I'd like to see this too. I think it might have something to do with the amount of models and polygons on screen at once. Rendering that many weapons during a huge scale battle might be problematic. Who knows though, maybe in the future?

The reason you can't shoot from horseback is fairly obvious. If we could do that then nobody would use melee skills in PvP. We'd all be chasing after each other on horses, with bows and arrows all day long. It's not a fun experience.

You can shoot birds, rats, snakes, you name it. They often drop their guts, which you can use for fishing.

As for the running animations, this is an opinion of which I don't share; I like them.

If we all had access to each class, there would be nothing to set us all apart. What's more, this would encourage people to swap up their skills on the fly in order to adhere to that particular flavour of the month. It's been done before and it quickly turns PvP stale and repetitive.

I hope I answered those to your liking. Some features are left out for good reason, others; well we can only hope they'll implement them in the future.

I can't recall the interview but I remember something about the wall scaling being "not at launch" when they asked about it. That does imply it could be possible feature later though.

I say we, as a community, all paper-create the game WE WANT. F- the devs, we want it our way and we want it NOW.

Take games for what they are. Understand what's possible in the future.

Good answer...

What weapons do refer to? Shield/2h Shield/bow Bow/2h i dont get it.. of course u can render it.. so they should just drop everything that is difficult to implent then...?

Was not a mounted combat i was after just maybe light and heavy attacks making it more realistic and that u dont feel restricted...

Its not hard making a hitbox for somthing that is flying or sitting.. its not like its gonna take more then one hit so no flying needed :P

its all about creating a good feeling in the game and all these restrictions makes that feeling go away...

Yes thought of that after post and was refering to light/heavy attacks only just for the feeling of it... :)

ok i saw some birds on rocks and parrots on bridges but could not shoot em thats why i reacted... :)

A couple of difficult-to-render weapon combos: staff/bow, sword-and-shield/bow, two-hander/staff, etc. etc. Basically, anything that would require you to draw and sheathe a weapon in the same place.

Light/heavy attacks from your mount is mounted combat.

And the game has plenty of good feeling. At no point did I think, "Oh man, this game would be perfect if I could just club that owl over the head."

Because some of these are bad ideas and others can be implemented after the game launches. MMOs never have every feature they will ever have at launch.

And I like the combat run animations. I'm not sure what someone running full speed, instantly changing directions on a whim mid-attack while swinging a long sword should look like, but I'm glad the game allows me to do it and doesn't lock me into an animation before giving me back control like so many other games do. Fluid gameplay was obviously the main priority here and I think it looks fluid as f--- all things considered.

Well its not difficult to render if u cross em etc etc but i see your point...

Its not high damaging attacks doh so it would not be much of a combat against someone on the ground just for the feeling of it

Well like i said the game gets better without restrictions maybe not for u but atleast for me....

I agree. One of the things I've heard from folks who aren't ranged is that they felt like there wasn't much they could do during parts of the siege. Defending the walls from ladders/scaling ladders would take care of that!

Because they are ungrateful. They've probably only played SKYRIM. All the noobs in the fanbase are dogging ESO because they underestimate Zenimax's and Bethesda's capabilities. What about ARENA? Which is a bigger game then this!

I see this differently, I feel you have no place in combat if you don't have a ranged weapon option. So, I think pvp should be held off til lvl 15, or weapon swap should be lowered to 10. At that point, not having a ranged option is totally the players fault.

I see your point, though I don't agree with the first part. Level 15 won't take long to obtain, so that will make that part moot quickly, I think.

As far as different weapon types and fighting styles, I guess I look for getting as real strategy wise as possible. This would give all kinds of folks a role to play. Not that I agree that they didn't before --- my archer got stomped by more than one DK or Templar who got up close, while I turned many another archer or sorcerer into a pincushion.

Ungrateful?? Hahaha its idés on how to make the game better (atleast from my perspective) if i did not care and liked the game i would never make a post like this.. ;) These things might be small to some and bigger for some... i like the enviroment and how character interact with it and this is what most game lack....
