Why would anyone pay monthly to play this

Post » Sat Mar 29, 2014 6:36 am

We will pay the sub fee just to make babies cry.

It's because we get a marginal utility from this game of more than 50¢ a day.

Just for giggles i went here.

http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/

And plugged in the price i payed for my EQ sub back in '99. $14.99 in 1999 dollars is $21.12 today.

You know, i'm glad ZOS didn't decide to adjust for inflation in their pay model.

This thread has been flooded by blind lovers aka [censored].

No game is perfect, it's normal people criticise ESO for it's absurd price for instance, it's arrogant of Zenimax to believe this game is good enough to be P2P.

Just wait until Zero Punctuation reviews this game and it gets destroyed like any other game reviewed by Yahtzee, then [censored] will be crying all over the place.

I would pay $50 or more a month for a premium game service / network.

Look at golf courses do you think they charge $120 a round because its worth it? No. But it IS worth it not to be stuck behind some guy taking his 3 kids or a bunch of teens leaving beer cans all over. We do not pay to play we pay to keep you out.

Honestly, it's none of you're concern on WHY anyone would pay monthly, It's Their business, if they want to spend money on a game they think is worth it is their business, not yours. When it comes to peoples personal business your oppinion matters not..and I Repeat, what people do with their money is their business so its not your concern.

Hilarious. Like anyone watches Zero P because they want an honest review of a game. It's comedy, nothing more (and good at that, too).

Let me guess, your favourite game was destroyed on the show?

it's been like $15.00 a month since 2002, it should really be $20-$30 by now. Either we are getting a deal now or they overcharged the hell out of us 12 years ago.

$15 a MONTH!?!! ZOMG!! I didn't realize that when I spent $80 on the IE! I mean, they plan on not going the free to crap business model, plan to support the game fully, plan on adding new content every 4-6 weeks(although I'll believe that one when I see it). DAYUM THEM!!! How dare they charge us $15 a mo! That $0.50 a day thing is BS!!!

/sarcasm off

Really?

Cuz i think this thread is full of people desperately looking for absolutely any reason they can find to try to justify their cheapness.

If you dont have $15/month, go play TERA or any of the other absolutely horrible F2P titles out there.

Buh bye. :bunny:

I'm really looking forward to the 2nd month of subscription. You know, the month where only paying customers will have forum access and therefore have the right to complain. Then I'll start listening.

What? Tera is one of the best MMOs out there right now. Only horrible thing here is your taste for games.

Wait, weren't you one of the guys saying the ESO community did not hate on other MMOs?

Never bother with reviews they're usually biased one way or another.

Prefer to try them out myself, I'm really the only one that can review a game for me.

If you say so. My favourite game was ripped on it and I didn't care either. But I'm pretty sure many people will base their opinions on these reviewers, and that really annoys the fan boys.

I dont speak for the community. Were you under the impression I did? lol

I'm glad you like TERA, they really dumb things down to make it easy for people to understand and progress. Good game for the lowest common denominator.

I hope I enjoy ESO as much as you enjoy it.

its no different than any other crap reviewer...for crying out loud rock paper shotgun gave the game a bad review stating it was not easy enough to mindlessly grind like todays standard of mmo's allow for.....and hundreds of people belive that crap with out even playing the game....bad reviewers and the like are just that...bad. specially when they are biased and think their opinions reflect how everyone will take the content of any said game. stop making stupid people popular.

Clearly you haven't played the game and are just trying to provoke flaming, so why should I care about your opinion?

You state this as fact. Clearly there are many who think it is worth it. There have been many threads on this subject, and what you must understand is that 'free to play' means that the developers must find other revenue streams, many of which players find negatively impacts their experience.

Do a bit of research on this and you'll find out that a monthly sub can be the healthiest revenue model for a stable player focused MMO.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

I don't get things. I have to spend money to buy something. I would probably need to spend money for other things. I'm not capable of comprehending the $15/mo payments and how MMOs function. I'm very confused by payment models and MMOs in general. Skyrim was great and like all MMOs we would need to pay nearly $200 a year to play.

Did I get that right? Or was there something in-depth and deep form this that I somehow overlooked?

Anyway, I dont care what you think about my opinion. You're welcome to stop talking to me at any time.

Good luck in TERA! :D
