Why would you make the same mistake?

Well then help Goodsprings fight off the Powder Gangers. Whatever you did first time round, try doing the opposite instead.

Exaxtly!

they also have something like 2-3 more DLC aside from Dead money planned IIRC. Also have you heard of multiple saves? Make one before going on to the final battle so you can do the DLC? Whats so bad about making another character anyway?

I bet that just because we gloat about it too much Bethesda will force on a Broken Mojave anyway. :cryvaultboy:

I'll say it again, Obsidian, make that box non-clickable for 15 seconds and turn the text into a pulsating red color.
Seems a pop up box isn't enough so let's just make it as noticeable as possible.
Instead... Make it only click-able while holding ALT and Shift (or controller equivalents), and put those instructions in the text ~after it mentions the ending.

lol I've now considered making a copy and paste answer for all the threads which have already been made with the same questions
Should of made multi saves. Note there is no dlc for making the ending continue or ever plan to make one. (I've yet to finish a game off yet.)

i though we were done with these.

The ending is there so that the ending slides have importance, for they are the only way to accurately show the consequences of your actions, post-end gameplay would require A TON of new worlds for all the stuff you did prior to the ending, and any action you took afterword may destroy the legitimacy of the ending, i like my endings nice and closed.

The game never ends "nice and closed" Every time you play, you have to report to ______ for the battle of Hoover Dam. Your "ending slides" never happened, it's just a glimpse into the future if everything goes according to plan. For example, Jimothy could go join the Kings and work hard to make Freeside a better place, and then after the cutscene you wander with him and he dies, so his ending cutscene is null and void.

Welcome to the Forum :foodndrink:

There will not be a DLC like Broken Steel. The game warns you. You can always make a save. There will be more DLCs but none that are like Broken Steel. Fallout, Fallout 2 and Tactics all have multiple ending based on your actions.

Nope, Obsidian has confirmed that there will be no Borked Steal DLC.
first of all broken steel was a great dlc apart from the extra skill points, but the same problem is with new vegas, dead money raises the level cap to 35 and the other dlc's will prob raise it even more, so the skill and perk system is somewhat broken in new vegas just like it was in FO3...as far as the game ending, a lot of great games have contiunation of the game after the main quest... oblivion(most all bethesda games), FO3, stalker, mass effect 2...all of which are superior to new vegas...a game's greatness isn't determined by end game slides and thats all the game ending does in new vegas, lets you watch different end games slides that say junk like, this faction did this or that, such and such person went on to do x y & z...blah blah blah end game slides don't mean much to me.

There won't be any form of a Broken Steel type DLC in New Vegas that extends the game past the ending. The way the game ends it would be impossible to play afterwards. That's why when it tells you, are you ready to go to Hoover Dam that's the point of no return. It's not a big deal in my book just don't return until you want to go to Hoover Dam.

No point to continue the game after the MQ is done. Entire factions vanish as a result and thus little to do.

No, grinding re-spawning enemies isn't continuing.

I have to agree with the nay-sayers on this one. Once you complete the main quest the Mojave Wasteland is not set up for post-game exploration. It is best to follow the advice the others have given you, and make a new character and try different choices, or forget gaming until the next dlc comes out and get some sunshine instead.

Sunshine is good but you can always play Fallout, Fallout 2 and Tactics :deal:

Best thing is have a special save for your character. Do everything you want to do and them come back and finish the main quest.

also, make it specifically mention that YOU CAN'T GO BACK TO YOUR NORMAL GAME AFTER THE BATTLE

So you'd rather play after beating it? If you watch a movie do you prefer to play random parts over again after the ending?

I dont see the problem with letting you explore the mojave after the games complete. I have usually explored everything by the time ive completed it so it doesn't really bother me. But if it keeps some people happy then why not. The ones that want the the game to end after the slides can just start a new character. simple

I don't think it is a mistake; Broken Steel was the real mistake.

Anyways, you can go back to FO3 because it clearly suits you more.

its not a matter of if the game is better if the game ends or doesn't end. theres too many different possible endings, and it would be a lot of work to add them. so threads like these are completly usless, since it will be impossible to actually have a game that doesn't end.

no one's opinion matters in this kind of subject, its not going to happen, whether we like it or not.

Make a new character there is a lot of different ways to play through the game so you shouldn't get bored. No Fallout is not dead.

Normally i'd just ignore you, but i want to address this part.

Even with the DLC you can't max out every skill in new vegas.

In Fallout 3 you can max out every skill waaaay (waaaaaaaay) before the level cap, you can max out your special and have 29 perks (even though a lot of them add skill points instead of actual perks).

It's not quite that simple given the large number of variations the New Vegas ending can have depending on your actions up to the end of the main quest. If they just let those who wanted to keep playing do so without changing the gameworld to reflect that players actions, I'm pretty sure there would be a lot of the people wanting continued gameplay after the main quest on the forums raging because the post ending gameplay does not reflect their choices in the game.
I'm reasonably sure that Obsidian decided against post ending gameplay for several reasons one of which I think is that with the timescale they had to work with they knew they could not take into account the characters actions throughout the game and thus couldn't create a 'seamless' post ending gameworld. Also the game would have to keep track of the various ending segments you can possibly get, of which there are a total of 27 different segments you can unlock, although one of them is negated by one of the others, so there are a total of 26 ending segments you can see at the end of the game. On top of this each of those 27 segments has anywhere between 4 and 13 variations to them. Trying to keep track of all that would increase the games programming complexity by at least an order of magnitude and on top of that the more complex a program is the greater the chance of more bugs and glitches.

@WestoftheRockies. The Vanilla version of Fallout 3 had a definate ending so your example is incorrect citing it as a free roam style game. Mass Effect 2 while it may let you continue playing after the end of the game, it's post ending gameplay leaves a LOT to be desired.

Yes. That's something modern games just don't have, ability to play a mission/map/quest/boss fight freely after beating a game. But that has little to do with continuing after the ending as the OP means it.
