Why Do You Like The Resistance?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:20 am

Sorry if there is already a topic on this, which there probably is but-
Why did you choose the resistance, and why?

Personally- I chose the Resistance because they were like the underdogs who've been tough times, and plus their expressions and gear are very creative. Unlike the security, The resistance strives for survival, even if both sides do, the resistance is in dire need to push forward keeping thier courage.

I just liked they way they looked, I'm not really into the whole "I like their morals better" kind of thing.

I prefer the Security forces. They are protecting their home, and they just look cooler. The resistance has a certain vibe to it that I like too though. Everyone's going to end up playing both campaigns anyway though.

Same thing for me, but Security. I like the whole black-and-blue armor aesthetic. Plus something about the Security seems cyberpunk-ish and reminds me of my days playing Dystopia with my roommate back in freshman year.

I can post a wall as to why I support the Resistance, philosophically. I'm talking Great Wall of China-size. I might, later, depending on how mature this thread turns out and if it doesn't get locked. Suffice to say, I disagree with the actions of the Founders.

Also, another plus for the Resistance: who can't love the Anger? Seriously, that is badassery right there. I like a lot of the Resistance archetypes better than the Security ones.

Its funny that you mention that because I actually like more of the security outfits, but would rather play on the resistance side.

Odd how that works out huh.

P.S. I love high collar heavy body armor.

I like the resistances style personally. I also think that their cause is righteous so I support them.

I think that morally, they are doing the right thing,
I forgot what all the technicalities were,
but I'm sure that I agreed with them at the time I first read them

I like that the've made sure both sides have legitimate rationalisation for their perspective, but I personally like the Security's aesthetic on a personal level.

Resistance remind me of the old-school Mad Max/Fallout Post-Apocalyptic "anything can be armour if we make it spiky enough" style. I don't know why, but they do, and that's kind of awesome too.

I CAN'T CHOOSE!!!!

Ok, I give. You beat me at this battle, but the war has just begun. Well it will begin in North America May 10th and Europe + Australia May 13th.

I actually prefer security, primarily for the aesthetics if I'm honest, even though I slightly prefer the back story for the resistance.

I was going to lol at your "problem security" link but it got removed... I'm totally jealous of your avatar, I have a mean desire to rip it off...

Well in New Zealand it's still "TBA 2011" so...

OI. NO. DON'T RIP OFF MY AVATAR. The world of art & design is a lawless wasteland haha.

EDIT: and my way of displaying my ID too... you cheeky bastard.

Sorry for dragging a little off-topic again... gotta say, I'm much more a fan of the Resistance maps than I am the Security ones. Also thanks to the Lost (I think) and Anger's jackets, as well as the Sweat in general, I'll probably be giving Resistance as much of a fling as I will be Security.

I just like resistance better. I think it's good to stand up and die for what you believe in. I'm a martyr. jk but I just like them.

I've never even heard of that website in my entire life.

http://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/PS3/Brink/3040932/ - these guys were on to it, they had their preorder up a few weeks ago. Don't want Fallout though.
http://www.ebgames.co.nz/ps3/product.cfm?id=16631&refer=productsearch - don't want Doom either.
https://shop.jbhifi.co.nz/game/ps3/brink/4593 - still not updated from MONTHS ago. In Aus they're doing Psycho, don't want that either.
http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/games-gaming/playstation-3-ps3/playstation-3-games-ps3/playstation-3-ps3brink-brink/prod110694.html - but no preorder bonus.
http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/4da41c3c00ba8076273fc0a87f3b06f5/Product/View/YG0211 - also no preorder.

Still no sight of Spec Ops. Those are the usual suspects on the NZ market...

The first link you posted is MightyApe. They're an affiliate site for Gameplanet (the link I sent. I'm a reviewer for them). I still want to know who's doing the Spec Ops in NZ too, if anyone. I hadn't found the JB info, and I had looked. Their website is pretty terrible. I was planning on calling them, their staff tend to know more than their website anyway. Not to mention, I'm still waiting on that JBHiFi page to load after clicking it before I started typing, and reading then closing every other link in the meantime. It's not a very well-optimised site either. And now that it has finished, it still says nothing (on my screen) about the pre-order bonus. I'll call them anyway.

Well [censored] me, you wouldn't happen to be a kiwi too would you? Thanks for telling me earlier haha... it's nice not to be alone. I've bought a lot of stuff from MightyApe over the years but never really heard of Gameplanet (though now I remember reading the hands-on preview, didn't realise it was an NZ site at the time) but I'll check it out a bit more.

Anyway, going to the official Brink site through Australia (our closest option really) and going to Pre-Order, JB AU is doing the Psycho pack - I assume they'll do the same here. It would be nice to know where we can get out Spec Ops from, and yenno, to not be eons behind most of the rest of the world with this sort of stuff...

Resistance!

Because they resist, resist to oppressors, simple as that.
When humans have a bit of authority and power in their hand they forgot what they are (humans that is).

All human laws have flaws by nature, human nature.Guilty by design as the song says (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzAFwHb3Jgs) ;)
That doesn't mean i'll agree with everything Resistance does.

I'll also do the Security campaign and everything the game offers since it's just a game :)
