Why is YOUR character in prison?

Skooma dealing. Although I doubt that's enough to actually get executed.

As an arms dealer to both sides i was trying to play each faction against and make some serious money, only to have the peolpe closest to me betray me and take it all.

Or (based off charon from fallout 3) from birth was taught, trained, and brainwashed into bieng the ultimate obidient badygaurd for the mage that held his/hers contract. he/she couldn't disobey an order. Then in some kind of confusion gaurds attack the small hamlet. he/she kills several gaurds. Suddenly the contract gets burnt in the confusion, my character then swiftly kills the mage and proceeds to simply stand on the spot, not knowing what else there is do with thier lives and is then dragged off unresistingly to prison.

My Argonian accidentally moved a sweetroll, was spotted by a guard a mile away, and then didn't have gold to pay the fine. :(

Edit: Sweetroll, not a cupcake.

Aww...how sad...why is it that everyone leaves such tempting sweets around and unattended? And then we get in trouble for it! SADKHAJIIT

Helping an in game friend take care of some bandits. Unfortunately they got the better of him and he was fatally stabbed. What made it worse was he ticked off my blade in his death fall and I was arrested for murder.....again!!!!

My character suggested a Bethany romance option for Dragon Age 2, then BioWare punched him so hard he ended up in a Skyrim prison.
It's a hard life.

Picked up an item in a shop to have a quick look at it before I bought it. Apparently that's a big no-no.

Honestly jail is where most of my characters belong.
Thieves, assassins, rebels, weird extra planar creatures and murderers, not to mention the vast majority really belong in an asylum let alone a prison.

Why this one will be in goal.
I've yet to think of a character, but pants will be involved.

Remember Falanu Hlaalu from Oblivion?

... remember that question she asked you?

My PC didn't have enough gold to pay the fine.

I lol'd.

I'm a practicing Necromancer... I guess the Nords don't like it when you knock on the guard captain's door with his dead father beside you. I thought we could have a family reunion.

Err.... yeah...

So really, it's kind of a funny story. But you had to be there...

Maybe my Dark Elf was caught practicing necrophilia despite being warned of the strict consequences...

JK, that's gross. I always love playing a thief/rogue type character (typically Wood Elf) and so starting the game in prison is like my character's thieving career getting off to a rotten start but then getting much better.

Stole a high value item in the Imperial city 200 years ago, to help a new Thieves Guild member remove Captain Lex from the Waterfront district. Was later captured by the Guard, eventually escaping many years later. Fled north to Skyrim and was once again imprisoned for theft.
