Why is YOUR character in prison?

Post » Mon Nov 22, 2010 2:25 am

Drunk driving. :foodndrink:

While attemtping to park near the tavern I accidentally kicked my mammoth into high gear which then proceeded to ram Winterhold's interior walls, thereby disrupting the Lord's visit to the toilet as the wooden boards supporting his weight split apart and made him fall in. He was less than pleased... :shakehead:

my redguard crossed the border to skyrim from hammerfell and got ambushed by bandits and left for dead but the bandits left behind over 25000 gold stolen from somewhere important (I guess) since guards from some random city in Skyrim found me and threw me into the prison/dungeon

heard about mudcrabs just one too many times, what was left of cyrodiil was amazed that he only cut the population by 60% during his bloody rampage....

Apparently, I broke the law on someone's watch. I should have paid the fine.

In reality I killed all the Mudcrabs and Goblins in Cyrodiil. They arrested me because no one had anything to talk about anymore.

Playing a good character first too, I see? I like it by the way :D

Thanks! Yeah my first characters are always the stereotypical kinda hero type, I know it's a little cliche but if I'm gonna be a mythical hero I'm gonna do it right.

He was captured when he was mistaken for a criminal.

My character (Wood Elf) was called a midget. He was really offended, and to teach a lesson to the Nord, he shot a precise arrow in the Nord's ass.

Right on brother. :toughninja:

THREAD-WIDE CORRECTION: Your character is NOT in prison. He is ABOUT to get killed when the game starts. By an executioner.

Todd said you are a prisoner, we are going to the executioner though. I choose to role-play a character who did a minor crime (skooma possession with intent to sell) and a insidious plot has guided me under the executioner's axe.

Okay, you might wanna listen to Bob Dylan's "Hurricane" while you're reading this. (However, I recommend to not even bother with it. It's pretty long.)

Spoiler
Weapon blows ring out in the tavern night
enter Svenja Thunmund from the upper hall
she sees the bartender in a pool of blood
cries "By the Gods, they killed them all!"

Here comes the story of Cyrus Kane
the Redguard the authorities came to blame
for something that he never done
put in a prison cell but one time he could-a been
the champion of the world...

Three bodies lying there does Svenja see
and a shorty Bosmer fellow moving around mysteriously
"I didn't do it" he says and he throws up his hands
"I was only robbing the bodies, I hope you understand!
I saw them leaving" he says and remarks:
"One of us had better call up the guards"
And so Svenja calls the cops
And they arrive on the scene with their lanterns flashing
in the cold Riverwood night...

Meanwhile far away in another part of town
Cyrus Kane and a couple of friends are walking around
Soon to be the leader of those Fighters Guild hounds
had no idea what kinda [censored] was about to go down.
When a guard pulled him over to the side of the road
just like the time before, and the time before that
In Skyrim that's just the way things go
If you're Redguard you might as well not show up on the street
'less you wanna draw the heat...

The Bosmer fellow had a partner and had a story to tell
him and Juillen Moniel were just prowling around
He said "I saw two men running out they looked like Fighters Guild
one of them had black skin and a muscular build"
And this Svenja Thunmund just nodded her head
Guard said "Wait a minute guys, this one's not dead"
So they quickly called a healer and payed the fee
and though this man could hardly see
they told him that he could identify the guilty men...

Four in the morning and they haul Cyrus in
take him to the hospital and bring him upstairs
the wounded man looks up through his one dying eye
says "Why'd you bring him in here for? He ain't the guy!"

Yes here comes the story of Cyrus Kane
the Redguard the authorities came to blame
for something that he never done
put in a prison cell but one time he could-a been
the champion of the world...

Four months later the world is aflame
Cyrus Kane's in High Rock, fighting for fame
while Juillen Moniel's still in the robbery game
and the guards are putting the screws to him looking for someone to blame
"Remember the murder that happened in a bar?"
"Remember you said you saw a Redguard afar?"
"Think it might-a been that fighter you saw running that night?"
"Don't forget that you are white."

Juillen Moniel said "I'm really not sure"
Guards said "A boy like you could use a break
we got you for the almshouse job and your Bosmer friend's yellow
now you don't wanta have to go back to jail be a nice fellow
you'll be doing society a favor
that sonofa[censored] is brave and getting braver
we want to put his ass in stir
we want to pin this triple murder on him
he ain't no Gentleman Jim!"

Cyrus could take a man out with just one blow
but he never did like to talk about it for a show
"It's my work" he'd say, "and I do it for a pay
and when it's over I'd just as soon go on my way
up to some paradise
where the trout streams flow and the air is nice
and ride a horse along the trail."
But then they took him to the jailhouse
where they try to turn a man into a mouse.

All of Cyrus Kane's cards were marked in advance
the trial was a circus, he never had a chance.
The guards made Kane's witnesses drunkards from the slums
to the Nord folks who watched he was a rebellious bum
and to the foreigners he was just a crazy brawler
they made their minds up and they wouldn't falter
And though they could not produce the mace
the judge saw it in his face - he did the deed!
And the all-Nord courtroom agreed.

Cyrus Kane was falsely tried
The crime was murder and guess who testified
A Bosmer and a Breton and they both baldly lied
and the leaflets scribes all went along for the ride
How can the life of such a man
be in the palm of some fool's hand?
To see him obviously framed
couldn't help but make me feel ashamed to live in a land
where justice is a game.

Now all the thugs in their capes and their hoods
are free to smoke their skooma and collect their goods
while Cyrus awaits his death in a ten-foot cell
an innocent man in a living hell.

That's the story of Cyrus Kane
I know it's a cheap rip-off and pretty lame
In the end the gallows are standing strong
he already gave up on his life, waiting to fall
when Esbern came along...

All Elder Scrolls games have had you start in a prison or as a prisoner so why start with a different beginning now?

I reckon we get imprisoned for trying to sell yellow snow cones to Nords. :P

Each of my characters have a different reason, and I have already decided them all!

Imperial Paladin: She lost a bet and had to walk around topless in some city. Unfortunately, the guards did NOT appreciate it...

Nord Barbarian: He was drunk, tried to hit on the barmaid, but when she slapped him, he was so drunk that he went crashing on a guard, breaking his arm.

Dunmer Assassin: He could have been caught murdering someone... but he was framed for someone else's kill.

Dunmer Spellblade: He wanted to light a torch with his hand, but realised much too late that he wasn't burning his torch, but his friend's head...

Bosmer Archer: You know, that apple on the head trick? She failed it...

Altmer Sorceress: She tried to summon a dremora army into town, but failed and summoned... IMPERIAL GUARDS!

Breton Merchant: Supposedly sold some skooma... "I drank it all anyways!" he tried to tell them... "leave me alone you rainbows!"...

Apparently werelions are just as hated as werewolves and werebears in Skyrim. :ermm:

Plus if there's no werecreatures, I could say the transformation cycle is broken and isn't working or something.

I love giving this some thought. However, until we know the skills, it's hard for me to come up with a story. If I play thru as a mage, it will be more innocent. Something along the lines of I was showing off a new spell, taught by my teacher and it misfires. The spell goes awry and ends up lighting a noble womans hair on fire. She has me arrested and says I did it on purpose....maybe I did.

If I play as a rogue, it will be more sinister, but not quite DB sinister. B&E, looking for goodies and was caught by the evening watch. As I try to escape, I throw grease, wine...something....on the floor to make my getaway. The bungling oaf slips on the liquid and injures himself badly. Which now ups the ante. The guard is in training and is related to so and so, which means I'm about to get strung up.

BTW, I hope we can make this up, but it wouldn't surprise me if the beginning is a little more scripted than it has been in the past. Just a hunch.
