I had this hilarious dream about a year or two back where I was typing a half-assed fanfic for Elder Scrolls on these forums. I kept clicking the post button and the screen wouldn't change, then suddenly the monitor started flashing weird colors before what I assume to be the face of Rohugh came up winking at me, while a loud screech emitting from my mouse as it screamed.

"You failed the test! You failed the test! You failed the test!"

I remember having a major fear of what my dad would say when he found the computer not working anymore...

True story.

Ahem. Now that that's out of the way... some of my own recurring characters:

Wow, you know these people better than I know any real people.

Last night dreamed I was at a store trying to buy a nonexistent game called Victory Cry?....Also seeing SMT figurine demons for sale and suddenly they all disappeared -_-. Woke up an hour early today too for no good reason.

Has anybody here read Perdido Street Station? In their world they have drugs that enable you to experience other people's dreams.

Spoiler
though only because those dreams are the metabolised remnants of human minds eaten by soul eating monsters that exude the dreams in their milk. :(

That would totally be fun. Who knows, in a few decades, maybe people will be able to download their dreams and then upload them to youtube.

had a dream i was in my school...it was me sitting at my lunch table...i got shot in the shoulder by a sniper through the large glass window in our lunch room, i'm down on the ground and soldiers teleport in, holding machetes...moving towards me slowly. i filter through my pockets to find a syringe. i inject myself with it, my wound disapears and i get up and a machete appears in my hand. i put it backwards in my hand, sprinted to a soldier, while i was jumping over him, i was slashing his throat. i picked up his knife before it hit the ground, threw it at another guy, jumped onto a table and did this sort of break dance while i was spinning the blade, cutting up the soldiers around me. violent...

So...

1. use stimpack
2. cast bound machete on self for 60 seconds
3. hack away

I had a dream where I was playing CoD4 and I was sniping. I knew it was a dream because I NEVER snipe. I then scoped in, shot someone in the head, screamed BOOM HEADSHOT at the top of my lungs. I then woke up.

Perfect way to start a morning.

Right folks, it is question tiem. :3

Now a bigger question... is your boss a dreamer, or is he a construct?

Can other dreamers move spatially to where Midpoint is on purpose? Has anyone 'moved in' to Midpoint?

I don't know for a fact, but I'm fairly certain Heller only exists in dreams. I remember asking him that exact question once. He just went quiet for a few seconds, and then asked me -rather wryly- what made me think it mattered.
It's not really an answer, but lawd do people enjoy being cryptic sometimes. ?_?

And I do know that people can move to Midpoint intentionally; we have so much through traffic here they can't all be constructs.
There actually is a way, or so I've been told: form a mental image of where you want to be. Drill it into your head, either when you're asleep or just before you go to bed. Visualise it as clearly as you can. It takes practice, but it can be done.
For this purpose, I'm working on creating as exhaustive a description I can of the places in my dreams. I svck at architectural drawings, so it's mostly text, but hey- even if a map is drawn in crayon, if the directions are accurate it's still a map.

I'll post it somewhere visible when I'm done, so other people can use it as reference.
It would be so kickass if this actually worked.

Well, I'm gonna give this a shot, at least.

My dreams are too unformed. I'd like to live in a place with finesse. And then get some work with FIAT. I don't get payed enough as a wanderer through a shifting nightmare scape at the border of the dreamland.

It would be interesting to try, but I doubt I'd have any luck. Things I think about while awake never seem to influence my dreams, even if it's something I'm obsessing over all day every day for weeks. My thoughts as I'm laying in bed are usually of the same few subjects, but they're never carried into dreams. Plus I've never had a lucid dream, so trying on the other side isn't much use either.

I've done that before, not to midpoint, but to other places. Though its hard to stay there when you get there.

I'm coming too! Guys, we should all totally try to gatecrash Metro's dreams! Though given my most common dream personalities, we''l be on opposing sides. :nope: That would be all I need, Metro to kill http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jWNhyMUpjSE/SgsdsKKR_aI/AAAAAAAADg0/LT9ea7DoN-I/s400/Beryl+Reid.jpg. Who will fight the cause of anarcho-ludditism then?

Not me.

You could probably live your luddite dream in the substructure of Midpoint. The Lovecraftian beasties in Metro's dreams sound like surprisingly nice fellows.

Its gotta be better than the weird crumbling dark Chorley/London/Liverpool combined city and surrounding countryside that I most often frequent. Maybe that's why I'm a luddite in my dreams. The wild is so much better than civilisation in most of them. Apart from the beautiful white marble Bazaar that i occasionally go to. That seems to exist in an alternative future, where everyone wears late renaissance clothing and travels around in half submersible ships.

Actually, some of the descriptions of Midpoint that Metro gives do match fairly closely, but not exactly, to a cliffside resort that I dream of, that has these awesome glass houses, sitting by the coast. You see the rest of the city in the distance, and it sounds similar, the way it spreads out over the water.

my craziest dream?

I dreamed I was attacked by ye' olde elephant, who was wearing a bowler hat and smoking a Churchill like cigar. Every time he took a step you could hear a trumpet.
Anyway, he got real pissed at me and I guess he trampled me to death (I woke up before he could complete his murderous deed)

Take that Freud!

I've just read this entire thread and of all the weird dreams in it yours have stood out the most.
To the extent I would buy a book detailing the world along with the odd stuff you've done in your dreams.
I'm now really curious about this dream world you have.

Also, on topic.
i have odd dreams occasionally, they're nowhere near as awesome as most of the ones in here, especially Metrophor's and I tend to forget everything that happened in them within the first minute of waking up.
Best I can do is once I had a dream in which I ended up chewing up my own teeth in my mouth, but no other details. I also occasionally get Deja Vu where I have a dream, forget it like always but week's/months later something happens and I suddenly remember the dream in which that exact thing happened, only without sound.

Several of us have expressed the opinion that Midpoint would make a good TV series. :shocking:

I had one like that. The odd thing was, it was while I was standing in Stros M'Kai, the island city in Hammerfell Province of Tamriel.

Can we make another thread?
