Interesting. Wow, names over there are cool. Is your name the same as when you're awake?

Snippy

As I was was reading thorugh this thread, I was wondering, "Hmm, I wonder why Metrophor hasn't posted yet...?" And then there you were. :wavey:

But on topic, I had a pretty weird dream last night. I'm not sure if this is the actual sequence of events, but it is the order I remember them in.

At first I was playing football against a team of people who were digging in the ground, trying to make the whole field muddy, instead of playing. They said it was "an advantage." So then my team and I decided that wasn't worth our while, so we went to the end of the field, which apparantly ran into the ocean, and went snorkeling. While snorkeling, I spotted a peice of paper on the ocean floor (not sure how it stayed in-tact in the water, but hey, it's a dream). It turned out to be a scratch-off lotto ticket, so I scrathed it. It said I had won $10,000, so I went to turn it in and get my money.

For some reason my dad came with me, and when I gave it in the lottery official asked my dad "Do you have $10 million in a savings account?" My dad laughed and said no, and we got the money. IN MONOPOLY MONEY. Of course, that seemed just fine to me, so we rode home on two horses that apparently replaced my dad's car. Upon returning home, my sister (I don't have a sister...) said half of the money shoud go to her, because she told the other team to dig in the mud. Naturally, I agreed, and gave her five Monopoly dollars. What...?

Then I woke up. My dreams tend to be like that; completely random and not very entertaining. It was certainly weird, though.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger; I didn't pick it.
It isn't her real name, at any rate- names have power in my dreams. Most people go by an abbreviated name or an alias.

Interesting. Wow, names over there are cool. Is your name the same as when you're awake?

No, that it is not.
I go by a lot of different aliases, depending on whether or not I'm using a cover identity. Mostly, people call me by the codename the company gave me. Or a diminutive of it. Or a mocking version, if they feel like being smartasses.

Closest I can give you to my actual name -the one I use in casual conversation- is Nemu.

...And yes, the first name's a deliberate choice on my part. Meaning, quite literally, 'sleep'. I thought it was fitting. >.>

Incidentally, the codename? It's 'Saeryph'. Say it out loud.
Yeah, it's stupid, I know. Argh. It hurts me just to type it out. X0
'Sae' would have been just fine, but noooooooo.

Yeeeeeeap. Either of these two.
Stupid unconventional spelling I keeeel yooooou

Anyway. A few vignettes out of my dream journal, from me to you:

Last night I dreamed I had to keep a friend entertained while she waited for... an aircraft, I think? Possibly a taxi. So I put on a puppet show for her, except the puppets were autonomous, and were bunraku-style puppets. One puppet cannibalized another puppet because she saw glorious spectral visions, and the first puppet wanted to see them too. The cannibalized puppet's innards were made of screws, fishing wire, and dead leaves.

Don't ask me, man. I just live here.

....

I dreamed last night that I was in a bombed-out city. The fires had long ended, but the wet smell of ash and rain still lingered. I took refuge in a wooden temple, a statue of Kannon dominating the center of it. While I rested, my companion went mad and started to devour his own hands; stripping the flesh off a piece at a time with his teeth. He kept mumbling something about idle hands, and I thought he'd be a liability so I took him outside and shot him in the back of the head.
I slept.
I woke because someone was in the temple with me. It was someone I knew, from a long while ago. She'd been bleached totally white - apparently by some kind of supernatural force. We talked about old times until the morning.
It was very odd.

...

Wow. Nothing like waking up from a dream wherein you're at a wedding and everyone you know (or damn near) points and laughs at you, and you have to stab them all out of a vague sense of self preservation, and go looking for the bride and groom to ask them 'What the [censored] is wrong with you people?" but can't find them because they're hiding from your wrath.

Anyway. Woo, that was weird.

...

I woke up to the feeling that I'd missed a call - that something TERRIBLY IMPORTANT had passed me by. My reaction, rather than the usual 'worry about it' was a '[censored] it!' And so I got up, hopped in the shower, and started the day. Despite the weather, or perhaps because of it... I haven't felt normal today. I've felt like I'm stuck in a cyberpunk sort of world, one that's cleverly disguised by lacking cyberware, but nevertheless has the same ethos.

Unfortunately, this means my natural reaction is to look for 'possible targets'.

Once, I was a red-eyed, jaunty creature. Long, long claws. Ashen skin. I was pretty taken aback. It was awesome but weird.

A Dunmer/Deathclaw hybrid? :P

Two nights ago, I dreamed that I had a girlfriend. That was the weird part. :P

I actually did have such a dream, though. It involved one long date that started out as me and that girl spending time together merely as friends. Gradually, and in a subtle manner, it evolved into a date by some circumstances I can't fully recall. Another weird part was that the dream was, aside from being fake and involving me having a girlfriend, completely reasonable and within the limits of the real world. Nothing extraordinary stood out, and that is rare for my dreams. This dream truly felt real. I was a little grumpy after the dream was over and I woke up, realizing it was fake.

there was one dream I had when I was five that was scary as [censored] and I've never forgotten it.

I was in a forest that completely fogged in. It was dead quiet, nothing was around, for a little while I wandered through these woods screaming for somebody to come out. Nobody came. Then, suddenly, the scene changed to amalgamation of [censored] up [censored]. First I was standing outside my neighbor's house and saw her sitting on a rocking chair knitting like some old woman. I asked her if my friend could come out to play but she told me my friend was getting her...something today, it was an indescribable word that to this day I can't comprehend. Then she turned to me and asked if I was supposed to get this same something, suddenly the scene changed again to my mother's bedroom where I saw the sheets rise up and a black spectre like figure came out of it. I ran as fast as i could through my house's hallway and could feel the demon breathing on me. I ran into the room where my parents were sleeping and I kept screaming at them to wake up but they wouldn't. The demon finally consumed me. the scene changed to the most disturbing part, I was in what could only be described as a literal ball of flesh. There were blood stains inside the sphere with me, but even more unnerving was how I could see the shadows of kids outside. they were singing "Row Row Row Your Boat". For some reason this really disturbed and to this day I cannot listen to this song without having some kind of flashback.

Then there was a second dream that had a funny outcome.

I had it in my sophomore year of high school.

I dreamt I was standing outside of my school. I could hear music being played very loudly from it. I finally went into my school, but to my surprise there was no one there. The music stopped, so I decided that I would just continue with my old routine of getting a water bottle at the venders. I went over the machine but in it all there was were...Double-A batteries. I didn't understand that. So I decided not to get anything and just continued to walk around the school. then suddenly a girl I felt affection for snuck up behind me. She started acting really flirtatious with me and I began to feel really happy. Then suddenly the scene began to turn a blinding shade of yellow and I felt a sharp throbbing pain in the back of my head. Then I woke with the sun in my eyes from the window. I fell of bed from the shock of brightness. This whole time my uncle was standing at the doorway and when I fell out of bed he started laughing hysterically.

I've been seeing this girl that I'm interested in a lot in my dreams as of late. It's kind of annoying since I know the chances of it happening are about the same as a snowball's on the Sun.

I dont have weird dreams usually, probably because I rarely have dreams at all. However, I will get the occasional vivid zerg invasion of planet earth, starring me in a big city, always on the run and trying to hide from zerglings. In every one of those dreams, There is always an ultralisk roar that scares the pants off of me (in the dream). Those only happen like once a year, though.

OK. So I was tall. Probably about as tall as you are IRL. My eyes were big and entirely blood red, with an almost cat-like head. Legs were like a deathclaw's only not scaly. Arms were long and terminated in a five-fingered hand only the fingers were clawed and several inches long.

I was awesome, in short.

EDIT: Also, I had a tail.

EDIT2: Also, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyMm4rJemtI was playing in the background. Never mind the music video, that's just insanity. That wasn't in the dream.

Kannon is also known as... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guan_Yin.

She's the Bodhisattva of compassion (and mercy) in Buddhist mythology.

...Impressive. Your dream world simply rocks, that is the truth.

EDIT: Yes I do, rmctagg09.

The best part is that song comes from an album called "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps." If that isn't fitting, I dunno what is.

Try listening to the Brawl version of Wildlands, it makes me feel like I'm taking an acid trip.

Someone ought to try drawing what I looked like in my dream. I'd do it, but I just spectacularly fail at drawing.

I'll provide feedback and corrections!

Uh... kinda. Only the eyes were entirely red (like a dark wine, not so bright), and there wasn't fur or scales or horns.

Also, there was no cute kitty nose on my deathclaw/dunmer hybrid.

Also, I was tall when I was standing straight. I don't think I hunched over like that. Also, no spikes coming out the back. That's a very rough estimation you got yourself there, but it's got the, uh... general idea. If I had to describe in one word what the correction would be, it'd have to be "more streamlined."

Gah, this is hard.

I once dreamt the most fantastic idea for a video game and I spent ages lying in my bed thinking about how great it would be and how there's no other game like it... Then I fell back to sleep and when I woke up I couldn't remember what the game was.

I had a dream a loooooong time ago that melted human teeth were the cure for cancer. Could happen, right?

Last night I had another dream, alothough the details are sketchy and it wasn't nearly as vivid.

I was standing on a large, plastic white cube with rounded edges that was perched atop The http://www.spinnakertower.co.uk/. My whole family was there, drinking and laughing on some plastic chairs. Suddenly the cube edged off the tower, but it didn't tumble, it sort of hovered down to the sea and gracefully fell in. Then it started shuddering along, half submerged. I went inside the cube to find a plastic dining room, everything was made of pure white plastic. I was like "meh" so I went back up only to find the ship had hovered into the middle of the ocean. Then there was something about two dogs and a shower that I can't really remember.

Hm.
