Wierd Dreams

Post » Thu Aug 26, 2010 3:34 am

If I play Fallout 3 for a long time, I dream about the game. My husband woke me up the other night because I was laying on top of him, dreaming about taking stimpaks and fighting super mutants.... So I suppose that's not to weird.

So you usually lie down on people when you take stimpacks and fight supermutants?

Lucky Jericho... :P

The weirdest dream I ever had was where I was in a cage, it was as long as I am high but I was lying on my side and the top was an inch above me. It was bolted on the ouside, I was too weak to move and I was bleeding. Everything was white, and then Dumbledore opened a door and stepped into the whiteness. He was crying , and I said "Let me outta the frickin' cage Dumbledore!" and he screamed, "You know it is forbidden, child!" and disappeared. Then it was like I lost conciousness in the dream, and when I woke up, people I knew were walking past the cage, but I couldn't shout because I was too tired. There was a huge pool of blood that I knew was coming from a huge gash in my side but I didn't care. Then they all sort of melted away, and a guy in a cloak came up and said he was sorry for putting me in the cage but that he couldn't risk me telling the human race the secrets of the universe. He then said "Surf's up cowboy." and threw some cereal at me. I said I shouldn't have lent him my dictionary.

It was one of those dreams that felt real, even though it was an unrealistic situation.

I had a dream a loooooong time ago that melted human teeth were the cure for cancer. Could happen, right?

Seems plausible...

Weirdest dream i've had by far is me riding one of those old person scooters you see in the grocery store trying to out run a Raptor that was riding one as well with a cane trying to beat me to death then making motions it would eat me.

I think I mentioned this on these forums before, but I once dreamed that my glasses were trying to kill me.
Yes, you read that right.
They chased me down the street. Clickety-clacketing on their little ear rests.

I like when sounds in reality translate into your dream. Like when I woke up today, a drum-heavy song on the TV was a cannon battle in my dream.

A weird dream recently was it was a few people and myself, only showing our bodies, no faces. All that we did was shoot these people with machine guns, blood and body parts flying and spilling on the floor. Then I woke up.

Had another one recently. I dreamt I was a blind pirate. That's right. Blind pirate. I seriously couldn't make up something so FUBAR if I wanted to. Basically, it was in third person, so technically, I could see the dream, but I was essentially blind. I was on a pirate ship that was docked in a grotto. There wasn't much of a story, or if there was I don't remember it. I was just there, doing pirate stuff.

I always dream of visiting this strange world where everything is "normal" but not quiet, you know!!

its like I go into strange homes and talk to strange people, its so abstract but I still "feel" it when I remember the dreams now, and its been going on for years. and of course I have lots of dreams where I'm in a ruined city crawling into narrow holes and rubble trying to hide, still gives me the willies thinking about those dreams which also happen often.

Last night, I dreamt I was defending a supermarket from looters. While dressed in an SA uniform.

I've a question for Metrophor:

How does memory work? Are you aware you're sleeping/dreaming? Do you remember stuff from being awake?

Yes, I always know when I'm in a dream.
It's hard to explain. Best way I can put it is that the Dreaming just... it feels different than when I'm awake.
...'Course, failing that, I could always just look in something reflective and see that I look absolutely nothing like I do here. If I think about it I can usually remember things from when I'm awake, like... "I hve to remember to get up in six hours" or "note to self: I must remember to write this [censored] down", but usually I'm more concerned with whatever's happening in the dream.

Do you not feel psychologically tired after waking up? That's a lot of stuff to think about while asleep, I kinda just go with the flow unless its a nightmare.

Depends on how long I'm asleep. If I get six or more hours of rest, I don't feel tired upon waking up. Anything less than that, though, and I'm liable to be a zombie for the entire day.

So, theoretically, we could ask you questions that you could ask someone over in your dreams and we'd get answers?

That kicks so much ass.

I could try. It helps if I write down whatever I'm attempting to remember, just before I go to sleep.
Lay 'em on me. I'll give it a shot. .3.

Ha, If I get less than 7 hours, I don't dream, at least, I never remember it. I need about 8 hours to remember dreams.

OK.

What's Midpoint the midpoint of?

What's the FIAT logo look like?

Do other people know about the world outside of dreams?

How is Midpoint so stable when the rest of the world is changing all the time?

How'd those Lovecraftian beasties get in the substructure of Midpoint?

Hmm, fiat. Latin for "let it be done". When used in terms of currency, it refers to things that are fake, pretend, an illusion.

If I was like Metrophor I'd be worried that I'd be unable to tell the difference between the real world and the dream world.

I once dreamt that I was playing a Prince of Persia-esque game. The character I was controlling wasn't the Prince however, it was Jesus.

Nah, that part's easy.
There aren't any horrible-abominations-that-crawled-out-of-Bosch's-brains in this world. Which is good. Because they usually try to eat me. ;3;

So unfortunately I got to bed kind of late last night and totally forgot most of the questions... I'll try again tonight.
I do know what the FIAT logo looks like, though. I'll try to draw it.

http://i384.photobucket.com/albums/oo281/Metrophor/FIATlogo.jpg Sorry for the sort of crappy quality; I made it in Paint. >.>

Now, mind you, it only shows those colors when it's in print somewhere- I have it stamped on a lapel pin, for example, and each member of the FIAT military force wears it on an armband (no Godwin's Law here, thank you; they are usually much less antagonistic.)
Anywhere else -the neon logo on their HQ, or the little rotating icons on company websites- the triangle-and-circle is transparent.

I studied mythology in college, and to me that design bears an awfully close resemblance to the alchemical symbol for 'silicon'.
There's also a passing resemblance to the 'http://www.alchemywebsite.com/images/alchemical_processes_symbols.jpg' (fourth row, third from the left).

Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe not. Who knows? I don't. : D

I had a dream last night where I was walking with my dad and sister and saw a dog jump on a guy and attempt to rip his face off.

Had a dream last night I was kidnapped by this girl about my age who wanted to initiate me into some club or something, and she started piercing me on either side of my body with sewing needles. I wasn't especially thrilled about being in this club, but I felt like I was chosen for being special in some way so I let her continue. When she had all the needles in I was supposed to just stand and wait around for some sort of confirmation from someone. I looked in a mirror and saw I was pierced all over like in my eyebrows, nostrils, ears (which were already pierced, even in the dream), even my knees?? Yes my knees were pierced. I looked over and recognized someone the girl was talking to. Suddenly Tom Waits was somewhere in the vicinity, and I realized this was my initiation into some pseudo-beatnik hipster social scene. Lol.

I dreamt I was making out with a girl, only she metamorphosed into a Beagle Hound and I sort of... carried on. :yuck:

Then for some reason this huge black guy was holding a party at a supermarket. Presumably in protest at the SA demos there the previous night.
