WIERD Spectacle Island settlement bugs!

Post » Thu Feb 11, 2016 11:34 pm

Aloha!

So, I'm on the PS4 (game version: 1.03).

Recently on Spectacle Island my turrrets, water purifiers, generators, crops (basicly everything that can be destroyed) keep getting destroyed for reasons unknown! I keep repairing them, but after a few minutes the turret I've just repaired is destroyed again (smoke's coming out of it, doesn't produce defense and needs to be repaired)!

For a long time things had been working normally, but seemingly since I've started setting up supply lines all over the world, everything went crazy on the island. Most of my turrets in the settlement have dissappeared into thin air (they aren't stored in the workshop, and the wires that were attached to the turrets are now floating in the air by themselves) and when I'm trying to install new ones they keep getting destroyed. I've no idea what's causing this, any help would be much appreciated!!

..

By the way, I had the defense built up to the value of 500-600, and i had a lot of (working) water purifiers on Spectacle Island. I'm currently at level 118, completed the main story quest long ago - what I mean is: I've put so much of my time into Fallout 4 (collecting items, building settlements, leveling up, etc.) and when I experience bugs like this, all my time and effort feels wasted. I love the game's concept, but the way it's delivered is pretty dissapointing (the game is so full of bugs!). Still, trying to be understanding, patient and all, but.. arrgh :@

Hope there's a fix for the above stated issue,

**peace**

Mirelurks? I understand their an issue on Spectacle, although, honestly, I've never been there in my 100's of hours of play.

I'm afraid of the water - it burns.

Everything u mentioned is known glitch since version 1.00.

Sad to hear they are not addressed in new version.

1. Random Destruction of property - Everytime I see this happening I just fast travel somewhere else than fast travel back. Most of things are fixed when I return. I am not sure if settlers are fixing it using materials in my work bench. But it works most of the time.

Not sure about exact cause of this. Since they get destroyed in right front of you for no apparent cause. I suspect it`s possible game glitched to mistake there was an attack missed when there never was one, calculating damage nonetheless as loading the settlement.

2. Disappearing properties - I notice this happens with something attached to turret. Very high chance of A TURRET disappearing if you connect one turret to another in chain using the wire. No real fix to this... other than try loading and try travel to the settlement in different way. A lot of things get messed up especially if you travel using vertibird.

Re: turrets - I've been attaching each one separately to the generator (it's in the middle of the roof and the turrets are on the edge). I hadn't even thought of daisy-chaining them. Interesting. I had thought about doing it at one of my settlements, but never got around to it. Now I'm glad I didn't.

Thanks for the replies guys!

So it seems it's a known bug waiting to be addressed. Well OK.

I'm allied with the Institute by the way, revisiting the settlement doesn't help and stuff gets destroyed after a few minutes (sometimes almost instantly) it had been installed or repaired.. sadly. If it would be 1-2 items at a time, I could deal with it, but it much more aggressive than that.

And yes, radioactive water and dark places are scary :)

Actually, my turrets are chain-attached (generators, turrets and other power consumers are all connected with each other in system of wires and pylons), but this is how I've been building since forever, and Spectacle Island is the only settlement where I have experienced this bug so far... it is my largest settlement so far too, but I haven't exceeded the building limitation (still in the "green state") and I'm not using exploits.

with that much built up, where are you on the build size? I noticed that when I could no longer build due to size, that things would start disappearing; most noticeably plants first, then purifiers.

You said it. In some of mine settlements where size is "yellow" things happening. When I scrap weapons and armor on the ground and manage to get them "green" in size, the strange things seems to stop. Btw, there is one installation on that Island that should be set ON unless some mirelurks may visit.

Cheers,

On the plus side, Mirelurk Cake is awesome! Tastes like chicken pot-pie. :)

I'm in the "green state" still and not using exploits. You can build a lot of stuff on Spectacle Island and there are lots trees that can be scrapped for wood and otherwise disturbing. With how it's directly connected to waters, it's a great place to have lots of purifiers. Sanctuary Hills is an other great place for this. By the way, I have Sanctuary Hills completely built in (and some other settlements too), but I haven't noticed that things would be dissappearing. Are you playing on the Playstation?
