Wife Enjoys Last Few Days With Husband Before Release.

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 2:00 pm

Saw that a few days ago, it's pretty funny. I showed my wife, who also struggles a bit with the scope of this event, but she's starting to understand. We're at a point now where she is planning a Fallout dinner on 11/10 with Salisbury steak and Nuka&Rum =D

I bought my wife an expensive pair of shoes to distract her from the new video card and the pre-order... :icecream:

Same here... But I had to agree to not take off nov 10 so she can spend quality time in the wasteland.

So I only get 5-6 hours before work.

What about the husbands of female gamers? Yeah, and then they don't want people calling the gaming industry sixist.

Cheers! She was horrible to try to play video games with anyway, got frustrated at the silliest things... Having the time to play Fallout 4 without that negativity hanging around is one of many reasons I'm better off.

The gaming industry IS sixist. Or some of it is anyway... But I'm going to cut Bethesda (assuming they're the source of the article) some slack on this one since they're one of the companies who actually combat the problem instead of contributing to it - by offering the option of a female protagonist, by putting strong female characters in their games, etc. Hence why they get my money, and certain other developers do not. Yes, the article pokes fun at a sixist cliche, but, as a female player (and feminist... I know, I know, admitting such a thing on gaming forum...), I still found it amusing. Especially since in my household it's the opposite. If anything it's my boyfriend who gets frustrated with me for playing too much, and making the "I guess I won't see you for a while" jokes when I get a new game.

Married (she doesn't like games, but knows how long I've waited for this one), one dog, a newborn, college and working graveyard shifts. I know I won't get the playing time I would like, but I will fit it in my schedule. Most likely 9 pm and later.

Precisely, I know many others in your situation, thus my complain.

But let's be honest now. Bethesda is combating sixism? That would be exaggerating a bit, and I understand it because I love Bethesda too. I wouldn't say they are at Witcher level (collect the cards of the women you slept with, lol) but they are not doing much. As much as I hate to say it, Bioware is the only one that fought for it, slightly.

But yes, uhm, everyone continue with the jokes, move along move along, nothing to see here.

Ha, exactly. I've basically been on the no sleep thing for a while now so I got this!

Fallout 4 > sleep.

My wife is leaving on an eight-day business trip on the Friday after launch, so that first weekend and the following week, I'll be getting as many hours into the game as I can. Not that I won't be playing when she's around, but I'm looking forward to those two uninterrupted all-day gaming sessions in a row, plus playing from dinner until bedtime for the rest of the time without feeling like I'm ignoring her.

My boyfriend, who has never played a game in his life, has been forewarned that I will not be available for a few days. He's fine with it.

As far as sixism in video games goes - IMHO Bethesda IS one of few companies who do not promote it, and that's good enough for me.

Just be careful when using the bathroom especially if there is a letter E on the toilet handle to flush.

Its a joke. Not meant to be taken seriously. The fact you are taken it seriously and personal says something.
