Wife Enjoys Last Few Days With Husband Before Release.

How is that article sixist? It's satire, a joke.

It has absolutely no sixist connotations. It's all in your mind. You made it sound sixist, you, not the article nor anyone else.

I don't even...

My hubby is well aware that when a game I love comes out, he will be on his own for at least a few weeks and probably a month until I curb my game play to a 2 hour timer and set reasonable limits for myself. I stock up on what he calls "bachelor food" and most call freezer/microwave junk food. I announce when the game will arrive, I spend time updating my pc specs and let all my friends know not to bother me for a few weeks.

He buys extra movies or he get the game too and we have a few weeks when we grunt at one another once in a while and take care of ourselves.

That said, I've grandkids living here and they don't always get it. So....I need to get them grown and gone.

Definitely going to the local midnight release event, always cute when the youngsters ask me if I'm picking up something for a grandkid and I get to tell them 'heck no he can get his own copy if he wants it.'

Since I'm single these days I don't really see any issue with relationship problems though a few lady friends of mine have promised to occasionally peek in the windows and make sure I haven't died in my recliner.

Never seemed to have much luck hooking up with a woman that was as interested in gaming as I was, I guess that's because they mostly stay at home like me and play games, lol.

Haha. My girlfriend pretty much knows what's coming, so she's making me watch all her crappy soap operas (and even worse, Disney films) with her up until release day as a form of pre-emptive punishment.

Would you have preferred a husband mourning his wife? It's just a silly article. Please save the feminist anger for something that actually deserves it. I feel this is close to being off-topic; I just feel it's worth pointing out that I enjoyed this piece of marketing and don't find it particularly sixist.

Sincerely,

A female gamer.

Did you read the arguments people are having in the comments below the article? I think there are fair and reasonable points from multiple perspectives there.

I am tired everyone in this channel assuming ALL we are straight males. I am a single straight woman so I have no wife at all. Same with the sole Survivor all people address his her partner as Waifu and that... So yes, I will admit I won't going out in a week.

The website that wrote this is an Irish version of the Onion here in Ireland girls aren't known for playing video games in any sort of large numbers like they would be in America. It's mainly still a guy thing here.
