Wil there be scaled loot?

This is really something I couldn't stand about Oblivion. I hated seeing bandits and maurauders going around with glass and daedric like it fell off of trees. Instead of having the bandits have daedric weapons and armor, have it where they appear to wear leather and have steel weapons, but the stats are Daedric. But when you loot their bodies, the stats go back to just regular leather and steel weapons stats. Daedric, ebony, glass, etc should only obbtainable through preplaced loot, killing special npc's,quests, and a very rare chance at finding it as randomly generated.

I agree with this not everyone in the world would have the ability to aquire the best loot all the time. Maybe their leader or something but Oblivion was overpopulated with the highest level creatures anyway...

I think they've honestly learned their lesson on that already. I know fans have high expectations but comeon, Oblivion -was- released quite a bit ago. In terms of things it was quite impressive like graphics while other parts fell short. But I feel in that time along with Fallout 3 they've learned a lot.

I'm sure Skyrim will have a lot of fixes(Things changed from Daggerfall or Morrowind for the worse) while having new things and things that worked in Oblivion. And it'll have to.

Skyrim will be up against the likes of the Witcher 2, Mass Effect 3, Deus Ex: Human Revolution(One of my anticipated games. ME 3 slightly aswell), etc.

Leveled loot is worse than leveled enemies. 5 different versions of a unique item makes me want to claw my eyeballs out.

Weapons scaling was the bane of my existence in Oblivion. After my first character and finding out that much of the uber cool unique weapons I got too early in the game were now worthless because I did not wait until I was level 30 to obtain them, I ended up starting over. For those of you that don't know the unique weapons in Oblivion would have difference statistics depending on what level you were when you obtained them. For instance if you were level 5 and got a unique sword it would be considerably less powerful then if you have obtained it when you were level 30 and would remain that way for the rest of the game. I hated this and caused me to make characters then have them retreat to the mountains to fight bears and use different techniques to level up fast to get to level 30 and only then finally starting to complete quests for fear of obtaining unique weapons at a low level. Needless to say this ruined much of the immesion faction and annoyed the heck out of me. Thus please to not scale unique weapons. Anyone else agree?

How about instead of upping the stats of the the bandits armor (as the OP suggested), the bandits are just left with their original armor, or maybe even some higher level armor that they stole off some traveling soldier/warrior/adventurer? Not all of the bandits would have the armor, maybe just their leader, and ONLY if they ACTUALLY overcame said soldier/warrior/adventurer in a random occurence. They said there would be more random occurences in this game (like finding a mammoth being attacked by a pack of wolves), so why can't lowly bandits be ganging up on an adventurer, take his armor/weapons, and then use it?

IMO it would add a lot of immersion to the game, especially if you find someone being attacked by bandits and you manage to save them, thus making them indebted to you and giving you something for your help.

Leveled loot will still be in, but there will (hopefully) be more non-leveled loot to make thieving worthwhile again.

Weapon scaling is most likely out or scale-with-you.

And I think Bethesda has obviously learned their lesson about deadric-donning bandits.

I remember everyone that there was also scaled loot on Morrowind, although only on containers. NPC's had fixed items, and some items were avaliable since the beginning of the game (if you were brave enough to get them).

I hope it's the same for Skyrim, more or less. The feeling of wielding a hard-earned sword/item is awesome.

Agreed they should never level a supposedly awesome weapon of yore for a level one character. They should create the statistics to it put it in a heavily guarded place a well hidden place and for those brave enough to go get it they should claim their prize, without worrying if the stats arent as good as they can be its a shame to see Umbra is almost as useless as iron...
