Wil you first character be male or female?

Post » Sat Jan 30, 2010 3:49 am

First playthrough will probably be a male Nord warrior that resembles me. Usually on a second playthrough I play a male Dunmer (assassin), a female Bosmer (ranger) or a male Dremora ;)

Male. And unless playing as a female character alter the experience, my next character will too.

Like for most people here, my first character is usually my "serious" roleplay character, and that will, as usual, be a female, red-haired, fair-skinned Nord (since that's closest to what I look like...). :-)

I'm not sure why, but usually I only play seriously as a male, especially in the Vanilla game.
I have no doubt that i'll start as a Nord in Skyrim, which I find to be quite apt :)

Though as I get more familiar with the game and grab some mods, many, various characters will come into the game with a handful bound to be female.

I always play a female, being a woman myself. I've tried to create male characters in RPGs, but I don't seem to enjoy that or being able to immerse myself so much in a male character.

If that was actually possible in Skyrim, my second character would definitely be female.

Male, for about 2 hours because as a male I feel obligated.

Then female, because I always play female in TES. Not in Fallout or Mass Effect, just TES.

Female, 'cos I am.
Is sometimes play as male characters, but it's always a bit alien.

This.

When given the choice, I usually make my character a female.

Male, as per usual. As someone mentioned it feels alien to play as the opposite six.

How can women stand all these games with male protagonists? Seriously?

I've gotten over that part, nowadays exclusively female characters if the choice exists. I'm feeble nerd, heroic males with gigantic muscles remind me of that fact

Male, always a male, because that's what I am.

I'm sorry, but it would just feel weird to play a character of the opposite six.

Somehow I think a story makes more sense when playing male. I mean isn't it weird when some orc warrior asks a girl to go in a cave and kill x number of monsters? Plus, there is no difference between male and female character. Imo females should be able to use their looks once in a while.

I've played every ES game apart from Arena, and I've never used a female. Never will! Also, and I'm not 100% sure about this, there is no difference in-game between choosing a female or a male.

I believe in previous TES games male and females start out with a http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Races . So yes there is an in-game difference between female & male.

First Morrowind character I played was male, every character thereafter in the TES games [and other games] has been female.

Yeah but I meant the way people react to you in the game world. It's only a stat adjustment which is different.

Well there's this one bandit guy in Morrowind who asks you for 50 gold if you're male, and attacks if you don't give it, but for a kiss if you're female, but leaves you alone if you refuse. :P

I always play as a male; helps me connect to my character better. Probably as a Nord first.

Right, and then there is the Siren's Deception quest in Oblivion. I don't think i have ever heard of any other quests in Morrowind and Oblivion where you gender alter the experience.

Female, no idea what race. My wife will play with me (she's even more excited than I am!) and we tend to start with a female for our first play throughs.

Not sure why people think it's so weird to play as the opposite six in an RPG; isn't part of roleplaying doing something you can't in real life? Anyway, that said, I am male and my first character will be a Dunmer male, but my second will probably be a beautiful fair-skinned redheaded Nord girl.
