Wild Wasteland OWB

Post » Thu Jul 21, 2011 2:58 am

So for those of you who have been playing OWB what Wild Wasteland extras have you found if any? Or is the entire DLC one big WW joke? Go ahead and post what you've found related to Wild Wasteland (or anything that is an allusion to old science fiction novels/films etc...). I'd post something but having the PS3 means I have not played it yet. :sadvaultboy:

The Wild Wasteland stuff in OWB has been GREAT. I've seen 3 so far, and I suspect there might be more. The first one I saw is probably the best WW encounter in all of NV and the DLC so far imo. Don't read if you don't want to be spoiled.

Spoiler
During a sidequest, when you investigate this small dog house in an abandoned village, a tiny Deathclaw runs out and starts attacking you. It's a real named unique enemy and it's just so weird and hilarious.

It's not an X-men reference  , here's a few hints

It's a war film
A game came out earlier this year with a similar story.

Homefront

Oh yeah. Homefront svcked, the old freedom fighters game was a better experience for me. Homefront is the only game I ever bought and sold the same day. Got my money back minus $5 shipping on ebay. I beat the horrifically short and underwhelming story in 5 hours...I feel for anyone who played on easy and did it faster than that.

Found the seven dwarves at the Construction Site. Well, seven little Garden Gnomes with their little pickaxes around some crystals. I assume that's the seven dwarves.

I have seen the WW vaultboy icon about six time so far. I (obviously) got the Wolverines reference but several of them I didn't simply because I was too busy fighting for my "life" when the icon popped up. One that I am curious about that I did see was a military truck embedded in a solid wall. The only thing that I can think of is an old 80's movie where the plot involved interdimensional travel. Does anyone know what that truck is referencing?

Its a reference to the movie Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai.
i think the other half of the truck is on the other side of the rock. and the license plate says rokit-88

was there anything special with Wild Wasteland inside the Cuckoo's Nest? It's filled with a bunch of lobomites, get it?!

And that was without WW, wonder if there's anything more there with it

Maybe a big native american with a water fountain for a weapon? Or a deadly pillow weapon?
