Wild West Perk

Post » Sun Aug 01, 2010 11:16 am

So far i have only found three things with the wild west perk.

1. Near New Vegas, an unexploded Nuke

2. Near Goodsprings source, I found at he top of a hill 5 red balls, a fridge, a computer and some other things all set up perfectly. The red balls bounce really well but unfortunately, you cant put in your inventory.

3. At cottonwood cove, a spray paint saying "Romanes Eunt Domus" Appears on the wall.

Please post your findings!

Edit: Sorry about the title, i meant to say the wild wasteland perk.

The last one is part of a quest you get at the Aerotech base or whatever it's called. I don't know about the first two, I don't use that perk.

Its called Wild Wasteland, not Wild West, but it doesn't matter.

Granny's Gang (Self Explanitory)
Owen and Beru (Skeletons with names)
Romanes Eunt Domus (In Cottonwood Cove)
Cruscoe svcks as an Investigator (In the Ultra-Luxe)
The Future of Law Enforcement (Securitron says, "Move along, creep")
Stay Classy, Mr. New Vegas (The machine burst into flames)
Johnny Five-Aces (Five Aces, Glass Pitcher, Rubber Balls, Skeleton, Chair)

Everyone gets the Cottonwood Cove one wrong, its not slaves or water, its the wall! It says "Romanes Eunt Domus"

its a joke most people wouldnt get.

i had to look it up to understand it.

on the side of the building in spray paint is a miss spelled latin sentence.

instead of meanin "romans go home" (or something like that)

it says "romans they go to the house"

More people get it than you'd think, but not because of the translation. It's also a Monty Python reference, from the "Life of Brian".

Wild Wasteland are stuff that didnt meet with complete approval, so they were put in an optional traith.
In my opinion the stuff I seen realy didnt belong in the game. And I do NOT recommend taking it.

There's a refrigerator with a skeleton in it near Goodsprings, not far from the Goodsprings Source. It's got a "gambler's hat" or some such in it. It's supposed to be a reference to the latest Indiana Jones movie- a fedora, get it? Sheesh.

There are only a handful of these things in the whole game, they're not generally very funny, and it's a complete WASTE of a perk. They could easily have made this an "on or off" feature, like hardcoe. It's true that Fallout 2 special encounters got a bit overboard and silly, years ago, but it didn't make it any less of a great game. The "wild wasteland" here is nothing but a bunch of "eh" encounters. Shoot, some of the "real" quests and characters are funnier and weirder than any of the WW stuff I've come across. Don't agree? I've got one word for you. Fisto.

the main point i would say for taking it, other than a few extra laughs, would be the unique weapons that are only possible to get with it like the Holy Hand Grenade, but this also gets rid of a few other unique weapons like the unique gauss rifle

The large amount of Monty Python jokes that come with the perk make me really, really happy. Also, the RoboCop reference when you arrest Heck Gunderson is hilarious.

I ran into some aliens north or northeast of the Horowitz Farmstead. And I also found Holy Frag Grenades in a church basemant in Camp Searchlight (I couldn't find them there without the perk so I assume they are attached).

Slight edit..

People called Romarne's (sp?) they go the house

I humbly submit my evidence.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIAdHEwiAy8
