Wild wild skyrim

Post » Fri Sep 24, 2010 6:41 pm

In the beggining of the game should you get the option to put on something similar to wild wastleland in FNV? If they did, I would want more of them, and so they are realted to things more people would know about (Most of them in FNV were from Monty Python). If you do agree please put in a suggestion for a random wierd encounter :) Mine would be in a random cave somewhere you could find a dead Brotherhood of Steel member with a note saying his task. Armor would not be collectable though.

Pop culture doesn't belong in Skyrim, but some crazy lore stuff would be funny.

Though I don't see this working.

I totally thought this was a hot coffee thread.

Then it wasn't.

I said "I don't care" in both, because while I do enjoy the idea, I'm just hoping we won't run into any pop culture references (except maybe from "Skyrim" by HarryPatridge).

They could stick to Easter Eggs too (Drunken Goblins, the terrible troll, etc).

TES in general doesn't have pop culture references. Instead they have easter eggs or subtle jokes (like the Indiana Jones one in Morrowind).

I like the idea but even if not included the mod community could do it as a project.

Yes, i think they should put jokes or reference in some charters dialog, but not like actual models like going into a cave and finding a full suited brotherhood of steel would kill the feel of being in an old world.

TES and Fallout have very different traditions when it comes to humor, so I voted no as I don;t think it would fit the series.

I second this. As much as I love the craziness in Beth's humor in general I don't think it should be overdone. Least of all in the Elder Scrolls. Some things should stay sacred.

Having never played FNV, I had no idea what you were talking about, but after reading the replies above the poll seems to be asking if we want pop culture references in Skyrim. Based on that understanding, I voted "no."

Maybe minor stuff, like Indy, the almost not quite pokemon Pete Utchoo, and Luke Skywalker in Bloodmoon. I'd rather not have anything too over the top.

wtf? Isnt Indiana Jones a pop culture reference?

Like most people, I want easter eggs and random occurences to be a part of the game. I thought it was stupid that you chose it as an option in NV, and then practically nothing in the game changed. I dont want to have to choose this as an option.

I don't care * 2. I might try them out like I did in FONV, but I found them too scarce and I didn't get most of them (too old I guess). But the more kinder eastereggs and subtle fun references has to stay oudside.

A good one for this could be finding a rocket-ship crash site with dead bright followers around it. Personally I think this would be a nice nod towards Fallout and it would make at-least some sense?

There was an Indiana Jones joke in Fallout new vegas. You find a skelton wearing a fedora inside a refrigerator.

Of course, Indiana Jones is pop culture...but I still voted "no" all the way on this. The amount of pop culture the devs put in now is plenty, thank you very much.
