Will we be able to become Draugr?

Post » Thu Sep 22, 2011 2:50 pm

Hi there, I was just wondering if you would be able to become Draugr in Skyrim; with the inclusion of Draugr, and following on from Morrowind and Oblivion in terms of becoming undead, I thouhgt it might seem a logical step to be able to become Draugr, however, then it occured to me that you cannot become a Skeleton or Zombie in Oblivion or Morrowind, at which point I weeped. I'd love to be able to do it though.

On another note, will we be able to become Liches this time around? It makes a lot of sense to me.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

And that would actually make sense, ever try to turn in a quest or speak to anyone for that matter while being viewed as an abomination which we would be?

And do not throw vamps in this equation, at least they look more "human" compared to other undead... :flamed:

Could someone delete all stupid/no-brainer threads/polls like this?

I mean.... come on... what's next?

" Would you like to become a purple pony with golden manes?" Poll?

I don't see the point of becoming a draugr, which, after all, is a zombie...

By the way, your poll is flawed. What if I don't want Liches either (which is the case)? And what if other person doesn't want werewolves or vampires?

I don't really want to become, anything, in game other than what I create my
character to be in the first place. Not a Vampire, a Wearwolf or a Lich. IMO,
Vampires and Wearwolves, don't even have a place in this game, and should
of not been in the ES series to begin with.

I can't agree with that. While I tend not to become strange creatures in TES, lots of people enjoy it... and I see it plausible that, at some point, the hero becomes one. And, if you want to ignore the MQ completely (though I never do that), it's good to have the option. And it makes sense; draugrs and (IMO) Liches don't.

Fear Me! I shall attack you with my rotted bones!

OT: no I do not think becoming draugrs/liches would be a good idea for the reasons above

I am Ok with most "monsters" in games, but there are a few that I personally
think are just plain silly, that if I could choose, I'd never have them in a game.

They are Vampires, Wearwolves and Zombies. All three I find being plain
silly. Not scary or intimidating or cool in any way. Just...silly. Again, this
is just my personal opinion. I am well aware of how much others like
them, and them being in the game, doesn't make the game less good
for me. I don't care that much. I think the Draugrs and Liches we seen
so far look awesome though!

Well, Todd loved Red Dead a lot. It would be hilarious if in one of the DLCs, you are cut down, but then return as a Draugr to undo all the wrong and evil in the world, lol.

Meh. Everyone has an opinion. Being a "normal" character has no place for Elder Scrolls either. And I don't mean being a supernaturally gifted "hero". I mean an afflicted dark character. I want to be something darker and more malevolent. What other games can you become a werewolf and go on a rampage in a free roaming enviorment other than Bloodmoon or Daggerfall? Hell, what game can you play as a werewolf other than Elder Scrolls series? Thought so.

No. You just can't become a Draugr all willy nilly. The Draugrs are ANCIENT Nords. From back when Nords worshipped Dragons. That's why Dragon Priests are found with Draugrs.

Draugr are past warriors that are cursed for engaging in cannibalism. This is impossible for your character, since he/she isn't in the past, and I don't think cannibalism is possible in the game. So in other words, STOP YOU VIOLATED THE LORE!

Quite frankly it would have to be a race choice at the beginning so you could tweek your zombie to look just how you want it, and I don't see undead becoming a race in TES any time soon no matter how interesting and different from the other races it would be.
