Will we be able to use a Oblivion save for Skyrim? Any word on that? Because if so, I might consider buying the game for PC at the moment.

As much as I would love for them to do that, I feel myself doubting they will, only because the events are 200 years in the future. But hey we can hope.

I dont think so. It's 200 years in the future and a completely different setting so nothing would really carry over. I guess they could make some references to the "insert race" saving Cyrodil, but wouldn't really be worth it.

I'm not sure they can transfer over, given how different the engine and everything is. I suppose they could use it to reference the outcomes of quests, but given the time difference most of what you did in Cyrodiil is likely forgotten.

Many players are Elves, for whom the two centuries would not be a deal breaker, more like a twenty to 40 year difference. That said, due to the system changes, I would also doubt it, though it might be nice.

Your Arena character did not transfer to Daggerfall, your Daggerfall character did not transfer to Morrowind, your Morrowind character did not transfer to Oblivion. I'm seeing the glimmerings of a pattern here, so my best guess would be anywhere from "highly doubtful" to flat-out "no", although nothing says you couldn't take something resembling the starting stats of your favorite character and use them for a new one in Skyrim. As for your stuff, that's likely to also be a "no", although you could probably use the console or create a mod to give yourself a reasonable facsimile. I wouldn't necessarily call it "cheating", but it takes a lot of the fun out of the game.

Nope. Totally different character creation/appearance system, totally different attributes/skills system.

No importiing your character, no having Sheogorath look like your Oblivion character if you finished the Shivering Isles main quest. New game, new story, new character.

Too many variables not to mention that Skyrim needs to be it's own game.

The race of the Champion of Cyrodiil and the new Sheogorath hold no relevance. The Champion was a sidekick to Oblivion's real hero Martin and Daedric Princes can change their appearance at will.

Nah, sorry, that's not really how TES works.

Well, they had already finished Mass Effect by the time they were bought out. And DAO was like 50%-60% complete. But, I agree with you nevertheless.

I guess I may as well say 'No' also.

Why not buy it for the PC anyway?

Now it would be cool if they put up a box when you made a new character that asked if you wanted to give the name of one of your past Oblivion or Morrowind characters, and use that for the books and stuff about TES history. However, they're pretty committed to the Unknown Hero idea, when writing the history of past games, so I'm sure they won't do it.

Just remake your character from X ES game. Unless they remove somthing that was essential to your RP.
