That was only an added benefit to the Kilt. Although back then, it would have been a rope tied around the waist since zippers and fastening buttons are relatively new inventions with the zipper coming out in the 19th Century while fastening buttons came out in the 13th Century. Button existed for thousands of years, but they were used for decoration rather than fastening clothing.

I get the impression that this game is going to be pretty packed with features / stuff you can do, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's in there.

Along the lines of this, I'd like to see Brahmin that you can use to carry stuff.
