27.11% grass and steppe.
36.89% rock.
The rest, snow and ice.

There were some screenshots showing some environments that weren't snowy, and if you look at a Skyrim map you'll find a large part of it is in fact snowless.

Lol, we don't really have percentages.

Don't worry it'll be interesting enough, there are a ton of different environment types. Check one of the threads about the map of Skyrim that was shown in a GI video.

The GI print article had plenty of outdoor screens that weren't all snow. No need to worry. :)

Source?

A few days ago I made a ring of invisibility and sneaked into their head quarter and calculated this percentage from the map on Todd's office room.

:)

Naah, just kidding, Esbern just gave me the percentage.

This, pretty much. There's a thread around here somewhere with forum-made maps based on information out right now, and they seem fairly accurate.

No, as the Devs has told us Skyrim will be diverse. There will be tundra, mountains, snow, ice etc. In total eight different types of climate/nature.

Yes, all of skyrim will be snow. Just a big white blanket. The only buildings there are igloos.

I don't know why people automatically think snow when they think of skyrim. I think of mountains. Sure, snowy mountains, but its going to be the first elder scrolls games where mountains are done right, judging by the screenshots.

Personally I hope that there are seasons so the amount of snow cover could vary during the year.

Seems unlikely, given that there's a perpetual "fall forest".

Skyrim will be environmentally like Canada. Forests, Tundra, grass lands, Mountain ranges, every thing but sandy deserts.

Well, not everything. There probably won't be any tropical rainforests.

Let me rephrase that: Everything from a temperate climatic zone.
