Will anyone buy a 3D TV just to play C2? Is it worth it?

Will you pony up the 2 Gs to get a new samsung or should we wait till they drop in price. I am thinking since I am going to get one at some point anyway, might as well get it now when it will really rock. Going to have to sell some magic cards though....

Good call on the video card, I don't think my ASUS G73 will let me change mine, I think it is fused to the Mboard

Not worth it. And 3D on a PC is much cheaper, its only like maybe a total of $500 for the monitor and the glasses (assuming your video card is 3D ready, GT8800 or better).

While I was at Game Dev Conf, they had a 3D TV set up and I watched as the camera panned through a jungle. It was frickin amazing! I cannot begin to imagine how great it will be to play on a big screen and have the whole game come to life... intense.

I've used a 3d tv in a shop and wasn't impressed. Maybe the technology will get better in a few years. Personally I'm going to wait for the prices to drop and the 3d to get better. Can't wait for crysis 2

u need a min. 120 HZ monitor and the 3d gadget of NVD?A a windows 7 or vista , ( xp is not supported ) then it costs more than 1000 US dollar , or you can buy a 3d TV and a wirles KB and Mouse adabp it to your existing system , but i do not think that t he technology need evulation around 1 year and then you can see many examples and comments at web.
so i think it is early rigth now .

that would be great, because I've seen 3d in other fps games and it looks really out of place, like pop-out picture books, except for when it's the HUD

It looks like those orange viewfinders you used to look at as a kid (If you were a kid in the 80's) where you would swap between picture of the Serengeti and Niagara falls. I don't understand why that would not be preferable to 2D. It is not real life images but it's a step up from what we got now. Weird for someone to say "3D < 2D"....

Avatar was pretty epic in IMAX 3D, but that is really the only good experience i have had with it, and the 3D in that movie made me really dizzy when i took the glasses off, so it had an undesirable after affect still.

I dont like how 3D is being pushed. I mean like, my 2D Crysis graphics make me just peachy with the eyecandy. Maybe in 5 years i will want pop out books in a game if its done right, but right now i am content.

How awful can it possibly be to have to wear glasses? It's not like you're trying to impress girls when you're playing games I hope...?

You only need nvidia graphics card and pair of paper glasses to get 3D, then there is more advanced methods with actual glasses and 3D monitor, which is basicly monitor with 120hz refreshing rate, so you get 60hz for both eyes.

Or something like that, I haven witnessed 3D gaming myself but I've heard its great and I probably will buy "3D" monitor and glasses later when 3D is used more widely.
