Well, at least Portal 2 will give advantage to PS3 and give them the capability to play with pc users.

What does it matter? Who would seriously play a TES game on a console.. no mods, you're stuck with whatever stupid scaling system they put in this time.

I have no idea why it would take so long to release DLC for Playstation without using brand exclusivity delays as an excuse. ESPECIALLY since Bethesda always uses game engines that are basically tailor made for modding use and should be extremely easy to release extended content for.

I play on PC and XBOX 360, but I wish they'd give our Playstation brethren some respect!

My memory is a bit fuzzy, but didn't Oblivion come out on the Xbox before the PS3 was even released? It seems like if that is the case it is fairly logical to expect that MS has pushed a good deal of money into their pockets before Sony even considered it. I don't think that is a greed thing, but it is business.

This.

But if Microsoft does have some kind of deal for exclusivity, then i guess we just have to deal with it.

Seriously, people need to grow up and get over the fact that people play on different platform to them. Sheesh

Well, it's not like they could have had Oblivion on the PS3 BEFORE it was released.

This thread has been cleaned. Further attempts at having a console war will result in me being unhappy. You don't want me unhappy.

If you could care less, than surely that means you care at least a little bit?

Yeah, I never understood how "Couldn't care less" and "could care less" came to mean the same thing.

taking ages for release

You and your friend are aware that PS3 wasn't launched until after Oblivion was released right?

Oblivion was released March 20, 2006
The PlayStation 3 was launched in United States on November 17, 2006

Don't worry, I had a long topic on it back in the summer of 2010. (about how Playstation 3 did not receive the same DLCs).

I was upset about how Playstation 3 did not receive any of the DLC houses, only the expansions.
I'm more than sure that Bethesda will give Playstation 3 the same benefits as the other platforms.

From what I've read in replies to my topic, people were sayng that Oblivion GOTY for Playstation 3 was a port from the 360, and that Bethesda had errors trying to put the DLC houses on it.

You guys freaking relax and listen to what you are saying. The PS3 and 360 release will be the same day as well as the DLC. It was a lot different in 2006 because of the release of the consoles. PS3 owners were lucky to get what they got (KOTN, Shivering Isles) and not because of some bullcrap reason. :cryvaultboy:

Wow Kinda harsh there.

I got 8 buddies that own the PS3 and I too got them in the the Elder Scrolls Series and It will be my job to lend it to them in the future but it will take time. It might not be in sotres for the PS3 right away.

Ever heard of mass effect 2?

Not too long ago, was just put out in stores for PS3 users I think, I remember when some of my friends found out about it they where pretty happy,

anyway I hope your right and Bethesda doesnt be like :( Activision.

The main reason the PS3 port paled in comparison to the Xbox 360 and PC is mainly because the PS3 had just been released. So as a result, BGS had to work with a system they had no prior knowledge of and it was much harder to code than the Xbox 360. That won't be the case this time around as BGS has had more than enough ample time to thoroughly implement Skyrim on all platforms. Their goal from the beginning was to have Skyrim at the same level of quality on all platforms, so do not fear.

The release date for the game will be the same obviouslly... but don't be so sure aobut the DLC. It wasn't just Oblivion that had exlusive DLC as both Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas had 360 exclusive DLC at first. We now know the NV DLC will come out for everyone at a later date, but its a pretty solid track record by Bethesda.

Mass Effect 2 is a bad example. The reason it wasn't ported earlier was because Microsoft still had exclusivity to Mass Effect until EA finally branched it out to PS3 as well (Mass Effect is still only on Xbox 360 and PC). Mass Effect 2 was also somewhat problematic because PS3 didn't have the first Mass Effect. So BioWare had to find an alternative to get the players involved without confusing them (hence the web comic). The main reason the first Mass Effect was probably only on the Xbox and PC is because back then BioWare was still a stand-alone company. It was only after the first Mass Effect's release that BioWare had officially been bought by EA.

I hope that they aren't like Activision too... I mean I'll have it on PC so idc one way or another for this game in particular but it still isn't cool. But that is business.

At least all PC, PS3, and 360 owners can unite over one thing. At least we don't have Wii. Lol jk but it really isn't a big deal, you get what you pay for, I got a PS3 because I didn't want to have to pay for online and like the decent hard drive and free bluray player. Xbox has a larger community and gets some exclusivities like DR: Case West and stuff like that. No big deal.

Well truth of the matter is the Xbox 360 is just easier to code games for. On top of that, Morrowind was on the original Xbox, so there is some history between Microsoft and Bethesda. On top of that, Microsoft just knows how to run a business better than Sony. Aside from the whole Red Ring of Death incident, Microsoft has definitely been beating Sony every step of the way. The only thing that has kept Sony alive is their few exclusives, and their complete turn around of their horrible business tactics at the launch of the PS3.

A quick break down of the pros and cons of the Xbox 360 and PS3:

Xbox 360:
Pro - Better exclusives and overall better games. Better online service (have to pay though).
Con - Horrible hardware (RRoD and no bluray)

PS3:
Pro - Better hardware (still pales in comparison to PC, but has bluray). Free online service (PSN still isn't as good as Xbox Live though).
Con - Less exclusives and overall less games (although Sony has been working hard to turn this trend around).

Overall, Xbox 360 usually has the better games and a better online system. But PS3 is generally a better console and has a free online system.

I've heard quite the opposite actually. There always seem to be various community members complaining about how quests are broken, glitches, and other issues that are not on the Xbox 360.

I had a 360 when oblivion launched and put hundreds of hours into it and never had any major issues. I now have a ps3 as well and got oblivion goty for it and must say that it definitely performs better and looks slightly better.
